Ross,
Don't dilly dally about gettin' to your doctor. There'll be a lot of us who'll keep checking for a post tomorrow until we from you. Hope this is just a hiccup but we don't want you taking ANY chances.
Sue

Bill,

The filter has the same principle as a gas filter but it's purpose to to catch clots before they head into more dangerous territory. I don't see it mentioned in Ross's profile but I know a few of our members have them and I thought one might be Ross. Hopefully, if Ross has one, it is doing it's job and functioning well. I think they are called Greenfield filters and are in the vena cava to protect against pulmonary emboli.

Most of us don't have them because the risk/benefit ratio wouldn't be in our favor. Those who have them are very high risk.

Betty,

Thanks. I learn something every time I log on to this site.

Sorry we couldn't make it down to Pinehurst. The mountains were nice, but we got caught in the rain a little. We spent the last couple of days on the Outer Banks. But we'll be back!

Hey, Ross - it's 2:30 a.m.; I woke up thinking about you and how you might be. I know you are on here at all hours and just wanted you to know you are being thought of at this very minute - and being prayed for.

Well it's 330 am and I'm up again. So far hanging in there. Yes I do have the upside down birdcage in my vena cava (Greenfield filter). Soon as 8 am rolls around, the phone call will be made to the Doc.

Hey Ross, hope all goes OK with the doc. I'm sure you'll let us know how it goes.

All the best
Anna : )

Ross,
I got on early just to see how you are. Hope everything is ok.
Mary

Ok, Ross...It's 7:46 AM in Ohio...Should be calling the doc in 14 minutes...Let us know...

Ross,
All of us mother hens are gathering around the coop, twittering amongst ourselves and waiting to hear...........
Sue

Yes, Ross, even some of the guys are waiting around for the update. Glad you "dropped the dime" though -- doesn't sound like anything to ignore.

Please keep us posted. We're praying with you. . .

I don't think it's any big deal. There is no pain, chest doesn't seem to be congested at all, no redness, tenderness etc, just a whole lot of water. Weighed myself and it looks like I picked up close to 15 lbs.

15 pounds of water weight is not good. You're going to call your cardiologist today, right? Got to get that off asap. Can't be all in your calves, must be throughout your body. Nevertheless, it will stress your heart and lungs.

Be safe, friend.

Yep, this is my second check this AM. Now off to work but I will check later.
Glad you made the call. Your exam room may be a little crowded with all of us in there with you........hope you don't mind.

Gosh Ross. It will be interesting if this goes through. I sent you a private e-mail, cuz I was getting a bad message when I tried to log on. I've been coming daily, but not posting, since you changed the site. Saw your posting, and said, I've just GOT to reply to that one.

Ross, please, please, let us know pronto what is happening. You are one of the key people on this board. And, all of us mother/father hens/roosters are waiting.

With much love and concern - Marybeth

Hey Ross, I hope you get into see the doctor real soon and get this taken care of. Please keep us posted on things. I hope it goes well for you..

Good Luck
Runner
