Not a War

Not a War

Unless, the Cubs win:p :p :p :p :p :p Plus I need more on my side..Red Rover, Red Rover..send Ross right over:p (To the Braves side) Bonnie

Ross,

If you are undecided, I suggest going with the Marlins. At least that way you will be backing the eventual winners! Bonnie, the Marlins play San Francisco at 4:00 pm Eastern time on Tuesday. Go Marlins, official team of Valvereplacement.com!!

Tom

Let's root, root, root for the Cubbies

Let's root, root, root for the Cubbies

I hate to burst all your bubbles but the Cubs WILL be the ones playing in the world series. Sorry guys and to coin a phrase you can "wait till next year":D :D :D

Thanks Tom

Thanks Tom

I talk to my Daddy everyday..and I will tell him to root for Fla...Where are you Calif. members?Giant Fans? And Ross...for you...I hope you get 50 inches of snow next week.:p :p :p Power lines go down and you cannot watch playoffs:p :p :p :p :p :p :p Bonnie

The Florida Marlins the official team of vr.com? Don't think so. I just hope the Cubs and Red Sox DON'T meet in the World Series because then it definitely would mean hell has frozen over and the world will be ending. Go Cubbies!! Lorraine, I too grew up with Santo and the rest of the '69 Cubs. Hey Peg and Cort, remember Dave's post the first day of the season. He taunted us Cubs fans that this would be the last time the Cubs would be in first and his Sox would be there at the end. Hey, Dave, wonder which golf courses the Sox players are on right now?

Paul

*peaks into thread*

*shakes head*

Now now now...we're all adults in here, aren't we? Let's be civil....and be courteous to the feelings of others.

On the other hand....

*motions all Cubs fans to sing with him*

CUBS CUBS CUBS...HERE COME THE CUBS! CUBS CUBS CUBS...HERE COME THE CUBS! ... IVY ON THE WALL, SUN UP IN THE SKY, CUBBIES ON A ROLL.....

*stops singing*

Remember that song?

*whips out Cubs party tape*

Ya know...there are quite a few good songs on here....mebbe we should do a rally?

LOL

Aye....it'd be nice to see the Cubs beat the Braves, considering the Braves treatment of us in '98...but, alas....even tho this year "FEELS" different, I dunno. But, they've made us all believe...especially after the magical day we had Saturday....

BTW...I mentioned in the chat post that I was out in Mt Morris IL today with my grandfather....we enjoyed the Ron Santo tribute today....what a cool site ;).

And, yes, Paul, I remember Dave mentioning that. BUT...alas, I haven't seen him post in here since the last time us Chicagolanders got together. In fact, he was supposed to meet up with us...never did...and, as far as I know, nobody has heard from him since :(.

Well, better make that 13 for the Cubbies. Always a die hard fan. Made it to game #2 this year.

I will include Da Bears in there too. Loyal to my home teams.
Going to the first game at our new stadium tomorrow evening. Sky box/executive suite. Couldn't turn that one down.;)

Well, they did it! Florida Marlins, official baseball team of vr.com, handily defeated the SF Giants at Pac-Bell last night 9-5. They are now heading home to Florida to finish the job. Go Marlins!!!

Tom

Yes, the Marlins sure won that game handily :).

As for my Cubs...aye...dropped game 2, when they shoulda blown it wide open in the first...oh, well............

At least they are still IN the series this year...as opposed to '98......LOL.

Cubs 1, Braves 1 :(

SF 1, FL 1 :)

Oakland 1, Boston o :(

Twins 1, Yankees 0 :)

Be nice to my Braves

Be nice to my Braves

Tonight..:D :D :D Good luck..and may the best team win:p Bonnie

Tom....that game today was shades of the '97 playoffs for the Marlins, wasn't it? Definitely a thrilling site to see again :).

Um, Bonnie...

*clears throat*

That, my dear, wasn't the only awesome game tonight :).

GO CUBS GO! GO CUBS GO! Cubs 3, Braves 1 at the real Wrigley Field :).

Let's see....

Cubs 2, Braves 1 :)

Marlins 2, Giants 1 :)

A's 2, Red Sox 0 :(

Twins 1, Yankees 1....

my boy can pitch

my boy can pitch

Prior is the real deal. I said in a previous post that if he stays healthy he is headed for the hall of fame. I think last nights performance is just the beginning of a long, awesome pitching career. I just hope it continues in a Cub uniform. The only downside of last nights game was the announcers. I am sick and tired of ESPNs announcers calling this team "the Pirates in Cub uniforms".

Awesome Pitcher

Awesome Pitcher

He was great. young..bet he will be stolen away with some big bucks$$$ Hey..who prayed for that rain. Our boys are not used to playing in rain:p :p :p Well, today will tell the tale:D :D Bonnie

Pegne, I hear ya about the announcers...that's why I turn down the TV and listen to WGN radio :). And, I agree about that pitching career :).

Bonnie...tsk tsk tsk. Shame on you for reminding us about Greg Maddux. ALTHO....you didn't need big bucks for him as he turned down a HIGHER offer from the Cubs to join Atlanta, which is now, as far as I know, 1 game from elimination this year....AND...which, as far as I know, has only 1 won WS in 12 straight years of Division Titles....LOL :) Today will be fun :)...I hope....

Today was fun

Today was fun

Got free rooms with my kids in Gainesville, Ga. 1 hr. from Turner Field if anyone wants to fly down.:D :D :D Cort. You are right about the 12 years..I heard things will change if the Braves do not win some games. Like changes in coaching, ect. bonnie

*raises eyebrow*

Turner Field? Bonnie, I think you mean Wrigley South ;). LOL!

*sighs*

You have no idea how much I'd like to fly down to Georgia to see that Game 5, but alas, will not be doing so :(.

Probably for the better anyway...

Gutt feeling: Cubs done for the year

Bright spot: Unlike the Braves, most of the Cubs players + Corey Patterson will return for next year...so, I believe another exciting year of Cubs baseball is around the corner.

yeah yeah yeah...gotta play Game 5 yet....but...well (see Gutt feeling).

Speaking of changes, Bonnie, what was Fick thinking on that play at 1st base? Geez...that sure looked "on purpose" from our vantage point...and even the FOX broadcasters seemed to think that way, too..........

Aye...

Update:

Marlins 3, Giants 1 ... FL wins series!

Cubs 2, Braves 2 :(

Yankees 2, Twins 1

Oakland 2, Boston 0 ... but, Red Sox currently leading Game 3....
