but I don't want to jinx the Marlins. I would love to see anyone beat the Yankees (sorry NY fans but I feel they have had their share of championships). I've been watching the games and rooting on the fish. What I see in the Marlins is a team who is fast and hits the ball where it's pitched. I am not impressed with their pitching though. They give up a lot of hits. They're offense is awesome though.

oh ho ho...don't count me out ;).

I admit...I haven't watched much of the World Series....tho, I have caught it at some of the best times ;).

I spose I'm routin' for the Marlins (sssh...don't tell anyone) because then the Cubs can say they lost to the World Series champions...something the White Sox can only dream about for this year ;).

Yet, I'm also sorta routin' for the Yankees....because then the Cubs could say they beat the World Champions 2 out of 3 games (at Wrigley Field) this summer....

*sighs*

I just can't believe we are down to 1 (or 2) games left to go in the baseball season.........

*knocks on Tom's door*

Uh, buddy, where the heck are ya?

*sighs*

I'm disappointed that I beat ya to the punch in announcing that the Marlins won the World Series.....

he he he

Marlins win the big one!!!

Marlins win the big one!!!

I was out celebrating!! Marlins win!! Beckett pitched a great game. We have a great team. The Marlins deserve to be world champs. They fought all the way and never gave up. Even Cubs fans gotta love our Marlins. They had fun and won the big one. I'm going to go through withdrawl not having Marlins games to watch for a while. Hopefully we will build a new stadium for them in downtown Miami. Yeah Marlins, our official vr.com team!!!!;)

Um, Tom. I hate to inform you...but celebrating is NOT an excuse to not post in here before me...you are the Marlins fan, not me...and, as such, should have posted first...sorry, thems the rules ;)

And...no...Cubs fans don't "gotta love" your Marlins...for true Cubs fans, it don't work quite that way :). Yes, we celebrate with you...partly because we can boast that we lost to the World Champs...unlike those pesky sox from the south side of Chicago.

BTW, in the playoff series this year, the last game was won by the home team only twice in seven times.....

Red Sox beat As in Oakland

NY beat MN in MN

Yankees beat Red Sox @ home

Cubs beat Braves in Atlanta

Marlins beat SF @ home

Marlins beat Cubs in Wrigley Field

Marlins beat Yankees in NY

interesting, eh?

Cubs fans don't love the Marlins?? And I thought I heard the mayor of Chicago declared next week "Marlins' Week"! Our Marlins have only had two winning seasons since they started in 1993, and both times we also won the World Series. What a great series. I can hardly wait for baseball season next year. I hope the Cubs have another great year. But I have a feeling our Marlins may dominate the sport for many years to come. Go Marlins and Cubs!

Tom

Although I celebrate with you I have a feeling Beckett will be in a Yankees uniform before long. I am very, very impressed with this kid. He is the "real deal". They'll probably do anything to get him and they can afford him so don't get your hopes up about next year yet. Congrats to you and your Marlins.

I believe Beckett is signed on for another year, and the owner of the Marlins, Jeff Loria, does not want to break up this team. Marlins' Victory Parades take place today in both downtown Miami and Fort Lauderdale.
Congratulations Marlins!!!!!

Congratulations to the Marlins. I have removed the Yankee logo from my avatar in honor of the Marlins. They deserve their championship. Josh accomplished an historic feat with a complete game shutout to win a Series in NY. I'm very happy for Pudge as well.
