    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 09-25-09

I made that mistake long ago. Now I only get the Singapore Street Noodles. Least sodium on the menu, if I recall. But it's tummy too, so I'll take it. LOL As for me, I'm thinking weighing right now is not in my best interest. The level of stress I'm feeling with Nathan being restricted due...

    Amiodarone

Find out if you can switch to one of the above mentioned alternatives. Hope you stay out of A-Fib!

    Amiodarone

Let me put it this way... My EP is known as "The" A-Fib guy in the DFW metroplex (or so I'm told). And when I had documented A-Fib he discussed my options with me. He said he didn't want to give me Amiodarone because of the side effects. He mentioned 3 other drugs. Dronedarone (aka...

    Our Soap Opera continues...

I keep trying to get Nathan to ask about STD, but he has yet to do it. I'm thinking it's going to be up to me.

    Our Soap Opera continues...

Apparently we got the millipede of monsters. Thanks for the prayers.

Betty, I hope so too!!!! :D I'll be sharing your story with him tonight!

    Our Soap Opera continues...

It's still in his spine. In the "hole" where the spinal cord is. So it's not really "floating" so much as lodged in a location other than where it started. It has the potential of moving more, but who knows. I don't know if you'd call me put back together, but I seem to be doing okay for the...

    Our Soap Opera continues...

I know, I know. You're thinking "what now???" It's really just a continuation, really. Nathan went to a neurosurgeon to look at his back. He needed a more recent MRI (his last one was nearly a year ago), and he finally had that done Wednesday. His back had actually been feeling much better...

    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 09-18-09

Sorry I'm reporting in a bit late. I'm up. :( But Nathan and I went out to eat last night while my MIL watched the kiddos (first time we've eaten an interrupted meal together since the kids were born!). I'm gonna blame that. ;) We've had some extra stress piled on us the last few days (which...

    Same time next year

Sadly, I can relate. It's really depressing when all the nurses immediately say "You're back again?" as soon as they see you. *sigh* But hey, at least it's only once a year? Last year I was admitted 5 times from September to December! Hope 2010 breaks the cycle for you!

    Bonnie Anderson "Granbonny" June 10, 1940 - March 11, 2008

How is it that seeing this thread still makes me cry? :( I miss you, Bonnie! I feel you looking down on our precious babies and saying "Bless their hearts." It still hurts to know you're not here with us to share in the joys and frustrations of the last year and a half. :(

    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 09-11-09

I'm finally checking in. This week has all blended together. I swear these kids swallow entire days whole and I'm left to wonder where they went! ;) I got on the scale a little while ago (not first thing in the morning, as I usually try to do) and I'm down .5 lb. I'm trying to do better...

    Low Residue

Thanks. I did some searching myself and found pretty much the same thing. Poor Nathan is getting tired of his mother and I asking "are you allowed to eat that?" And last night I had to tell him he couldn't eat the edamame he'd ordered. :( I can't wait for him to be cleared to eat normally...

    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 09-04-09

I'm not sure Nathan's current dietary needs are going to be any good for me losing weight. :p He's been instructed to eat only "low residue" foods. I've been doing some research and now know this means we have to eat only processed grains (white bread, pasta, etc.), few veggies or fruits, and...

    Ross??? where are you?

Ross, I've been here almost as long as you have (about 6 months less), and I've seen these ups and downs and generally have to roll my eyes at the pettiness. But I've never been among the attacked, and I hate, hate, hate that you have. :( I generally do just as you suggested. I stay out of...

    Low Residue

Anyone ever have to do a low residue diet before? Nathan has to do this until his ulcers and esophagus heal. Anyone have a good web site for recipes? So now we need low-residue and low-sodium. Thanks in advance!

    Ugh! Not now. :(

Nathan is home. We're all exhausted. He and the babies are napping. I'd love to do the same, but I have papers to grade and this may be my only chance. At least we're all in one place again. :)

    Cooker’s ThrowDown Friday III ... 09-04-09

When I got on my home scale this morning it said no change. I wanna go by the hospital weight, but I don't know what it was! ;)

    Ugh! Not now. :(

OMG! I called Nathan's grandmother to update her and was informed that his aunt is now in the hospital (same one as Nathan) because the lap band she had done a year ago has slipped and they had to go in and remove it. I feel like my family has somehow landed on the set of General...
