Ross,
That sounds like good news,I'm glad her kidney was spared.
Please get some rest yourself, you will need it in the days and weeks to come.

Hey Ross,
Thanks for the update. Sounds like some good news for a change. You and Lyn are still in my thoughts and prayers. Get some rest.
Take Care

Amen!

Amen!

It's about time you got something to cheer about. I know things could be a lot better, but they could be a lot worse, too. I'm hoping that this is the start of many more good things to come. We are keeping y'all in our prayers. Katie made you and Lyn a card. Will try and get it in the mail soon. And, Ross, do please try and get some rest............you sound exhausted. Much love and many hugs. Janet

I am Thrilled for you and Lynn...

I am Thrilled for you and Lynn...

Thank God this is over, and that things went ok. I hope that things keep moving in a positive direction and please know that the prayers will continue and you will be in my thoughts. I hope you can get some rest and feel alot better. Harrybaby :D :D :D :D :D

Ross,
I was afraid to post in this thread. My mom went into the hospital with a kidney blockage and ended up with massive complications of cancer. I'm SO relieved that Lyn's problem is not cancer-related and that they were able to preserve some function within the kidney.

Now I can actually see the sunlight for you! As others have said, it really is finally time for something to go your way.

Just got off the phone with Lyn and she is upset that he did not take it out after pretty well beating into us that it will give her problems in the future. How the heck do you settle someone down when confronted like this? I told her that we just have to pray that he made the right decision and hope for the best. I guess they're taking the Foley Cath out and he wants her on her feet and walking today. She's still nauseated and in a lot of pain, but I guess she's going to have to do it even if she does think it's too early.

Ross,
I think you answered your own question--you trust and pray the surgeon made the right decision and hope for the best. It's kind of like the choice of valves; what's done is done, and it is futile to second guess now.

Once her pain and nausea is better, I bet Lyn will be better able to accept the repair and focus on getting better. Hang in there Ross! We're here to let you vent!
Hugs and cow kisses to you both!
Mary

good morning, Ross!

good morning, Ross!

Hey kiddo. Well, at least she's got enough gumption back in her to be complaining abit!! Guess it's now up to posing a dare to prove the doctor wrong about future problems, huh? So you two are in role reversal now -- she's the patient, you're the support. You get to wear more hats this time, don't you? I'm sure it's difficult. You know she knows that you are solidly there for her. I suspect your being a really good listener is wonderfully helpful. Maybe you could ask her how she dealt with her feelings of helplessness during your initaial recovery. I think we all wish we were in a geographically real community so that we could be bringing you pot roast and casseroles and hugs and shoulders to lean on. Hang in there!!

Continuing best wishes! Marguerite

Ross:

Glad to hear that Lyn's out of surgery and OK. Can understand her consternation about the surgeon NOT removing the kidney, though....

Don't we always think it's too early to get up and about after surgery? ("You want me to do WHAT???? I still hurt!")

John & I are keeping both of you in our prayers... I've updated him everyday about you & Lyn.

Marsha, I know what you mean. My whole family have been asking about how both Lyn and Nancy's Joe are doing.

Ross, a heart valve repair is generally better than having a replacement done so I'm hoping that for Lyn a repair is also the better option...especially since the option wasn't a replacement. You all are in my prayers.
