I've been absent from this forum for way too long, and upon my return I find that Ross & family are beset by yet another life challenge. Ross, I'm sending you and Lynn ALL my best wishes for an uneventful surgery and a smooth recovery. Time to revitalize the YaYa Brotherhood!

Yes Sir, by golly it is time! Great to see you my friend. Seems I only see you once a year now. Drop me a note from time to time please. ;)

Ross-

You and Lyn will be in my thoughts and prayers for a good outcome and easy recovery for Lyn. You are both very dear people to us all and there is so much additional turmoil that you don't need at all, on the financial side.

I'm sure your family will rally round and help you both.

God Bless.

Man, see what happens when I don't check in!!! Lyn gets her surgery date, Joe is going in the hospital......My prayer book will be filled with you guys. And all this after Tyce just got out last week and started back to work this Thursday.....Man oh Man, when it rains, it pours.

Thinking of you, my friend.

Hey Rosso!!

OK, so there is a Plan on the table, and soon this will be past. I have Lyn's surgery pencilled into my Social Schedule, so I will be thinking of you and praying for everyone. Hang in there, man!! You've been through worse. Just take it one day at a time. Send a kid out for a couple funny videos (free at the library!) and have a little fun, take your mind off things, get some chuckles.

thinking of you,
Jennie

Mornin, Ross - we got through one more day.

You haven't told us much about Lyn. How is she taking all this? Has she ever been in the hospital as a patient besides the birth of the boys? Is she pretty much prepared?

Ready? Is anyone ever ready? She's getting very nervous now. I've been fighting with accounts receivable and such trying to pave the way for a smooth journey and limited B.S. because of no insurance. I haven't had time to think of much of anything. It's been days of playing phone tag, running and getting forms filled out, looking for other sources of financial aid, trying to protect what little we have, etc. Full time job for this boy.

Now the weekend is here, I think we'll spend it talking about the upcoming.

I know you are nervous

I know you are nervous

As the big day gets closer you will be getting more nervous, that is a given. But the weekend is so please TRY to take some time to do something enjoyable together. Even if it is just sitting on the couch and watching a movie. You need something to distract you from all the stress. I will be thinking of you on Tuesday. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way.

sittin by the computer, waitin with you and Lyn. I am sure she has thought of how you felt back then. You can understand her fears because you have been there several times. It's a serious major surgery but she will come through - and if you calm down some, you will too. Keep the oxygen handy and take a few extra pulls on it.

I remember when bro had his removed; he's a horrid patient; nothing made him happy. This didn't help his situation any a'tall. Nurses are people, too, and they have problems about cranky patients and he was the worst. Tell Lyn to be calm and cooperative and they will help her all they can. The nurses just wanted to stay away from my bro - poor guy, he couldn't help it, tho.

Get this~I called to order a boat load of Oxylite cylinders because I typically use 3 to 4 on each visit. I asked for 25 and was told they don't have any. I told them to bring what they can spare. I'll just have to travel out to the supply house and pick more up as I need them. What a pain in the arse. They're going to tick me off to the point that I hook up to the wall in the room!

Ross,
Ask them if you can hook up. I'm not kidding. At the hospital where my husband works, they allow the person staying with the patient to use the hospital in room oxygen supply. There's no charge whatsoever.

About two months ago, Bob got a call late evening from the nursing staff. It seems the wife (the visitor using the room O2 in this instance) was pitching a fit because she wanted an oxygen tank so she could be mobile to go outside and smoke! She was told she could borrow a tank to go to the cafeteria, but she couldn't take one outside to smoke. The next day they told her she could no longer use the wall unit because she was trying to take advantage of their genorosity. So, if you're not going to be smoking, I think there's a good chance the hospital might let you use theirs. It can't hurt to ask, and you might tell them that you've heard of other hospitals supplying it.

Sunday morning - I will take y'all to church with me.

If you know the plans (schedule), it's time to fill us in now. Tuesday is only a short time away. We are on edge - like you.

tick - tock - tick

Sounds like they are looking for 2 patients at a time?????????

What burns my **** is the fact that they have so many of us on Oxylite cylinders and then don't keep enough to supply us all. I usually only use 12 per month, but in this circumstance, I need 20 to 25 for one week. Why does everything have to be another source of aggravation right now?

Could just be you are so stressed right now. Something you might normally blow off is magnified 1000X due to all the other crap you have on your plate.

That being said, it sure seems medical supplies shouldn't be in the same category as "Talking Elmo" dolls - first come, first served. That habit is BS.

I guess my question is.....

Why in the Fort Sam Hill don't they keep enough on supply, considering the reason you need oxygen in the first place is because your body cannot do it as well anymore, and don't they realize that it could kill you if you don't have your O2? Don't they plan around the stressful situations that do come up in a person's life?

You are certainly getting the bum's rush Ross, and I am sooo sorry that all this is happening to you and yours, and I am continually praying that things will get better for you and lynn and your boys. Harrybaby666    :D

If worse came to worse, I could get the "E" tanks
E_Cylinder.gif
and drag them around on a cart, but I have a hard enough time just carrying the oxylite
tank_m6.jpg
and 3 extra cylinders. They weigh about 5 pounds a piece and the "E" weighs about 14 pounds a piece.

Did you ask about hooking up to the wall unit once Lynn is in a room? You need to ask.
