"Full recovery in a month."

"Full recovery in a month."

Dear Ann, if they expect full recovery in a month, we're talking molehill, not a mountain. You'll knock their socks off.

And don't even THINK about starting kidneyremoval.com - you belong here because we all love you.

Great idea Georgia.

Ann, if you start the group I can sign your first member;)

Recovery is a piece of cake compared to heart surgery. Being on both sides of the bed I can say with the hubby's Kidney surgery....just when we thought is was bad...he turned the corner fast. Put it this way, he was golfing the very next week. I think the doctors told him to hold off 4 weeks on the swing. Guess who he ran into at the club, :D. Busted. He had to tell me what he had been up to as I would hear so soon enough. We shared the same GP so it became a little joke. Hang in there.

Ann...honks and goosefeathers coming your way still.

Janie...I loved your graphics. How neat . thank you

Oh goodness - y'all are doin it again. Bringing tears. Such wonderful words you all have. I like Paul's $1.00 word (exponential). Can just anybody use that word, Paul. And geese.........

I am told that my hospital is one of the top 100 in the country. It's not very big, but it's good. I am positive my dr is one of the best, his assistant is, too. And the anesthesiologist gives all the new mommies their spinals so he must be ok. What else can one ask for. (a baby dr???)

From all I have heard kidneyreplacement.com already has many members, all recovered, and they don't need to go there anymore, so I guess that's out.

Climbing the mountainin. You know, I had not even given that a thought yet, but guess the mountain is right in front of me again, but all those hands holding on will make the trek easy and the truck might turn out to be a bicycle.

And Ben - oh, Ben, I am so happy to hear from you. We miss seeing your shiny pate, but know you are busy. It's just nice that you can stop by to let us know you are still out there somewhere and ready to jump right in when needed. Thank you for stopping by.

Evelyn, I have an extra rocker, always for whoever wants to stop in. There is the heat, tho. There are ceiling fans out there.

Gina I put your # away so I wouldn't lose it (once put a check away and took 2 days of constant searching everything in the house to find it, so this isn't new to me). I just found the # so I will be in touch. Stuck it right here by the computer instead of the phone.

My little sister left a puzzle to keep me busy. You know those easter eggs we hide and find all but one, which shows up next Christmas? Well, she brought 5 cats with her and instantly one of them escaped his cage and headed east. They stayed an extra day, hoping he would return, to no avail. It is left to me to search and wait. I have sent out the troops, my street kitty and the hound dog, to retrieve but so far they are not doing their job. I have emailed the radio station, but nobody has called. Atticus has to be out there in the woods closeby, wouldn't you think? Any suggestions? I just have to find him. Could be he's headed for Dallas on his own, or back to New York?

Thank you all for your caring words and love. It is very precious and you have blessed me. Ann

Thinking of you

Thinking of you

Ann,

So sorry to hear of your upcoming surgery. You are in my thoughts and I know that your VR family will be with you every step of the way.

I know that you will do just fine. Just keep yourself busy and try to think positively.

Gisele

Ann,

I am so glad that this ordeal will be over for you soon. The waiting until the 19th will feel like an eternity but maybe your puzzle and hunting that cat can keep you occupied. We will all keep you in our prayers.

Hi Hensylee-

Does the cat recognize his name? And did he have a little time to acclimate to your house?

We had a fairly new-to-us kitten that bolted from the house when we had painters working there. She was scared, and was gone for several days. We thought she was long gone, far away, but it turned out she was very close by, just in hiding. I had another cat leave for about 4 months. One day, she just returned, sitting n our driveway, licking her paws, just like she had never gone away. And she was well fed. She never left again. Maybe someone else found her. She didn't tell us her secret. When you live in a wooded area, they can survive very well by catching their own dinner. He'll return, if he knows your house is home. You might call the nieghbors, because if he is a people cat, he might appear on someone's doorstep.

Good luck finding Atticus.

Nancy, thinks for the suggestions, but only one fits - the wooded area.

Atticus has never seen my house; he bolted before they could get him inside. He had never been here before, either. He does not know me. He is a city cat and doesn't know trees, possums, tall grass, train whistles. I call him every time I am outside. Nan and I sound somewhat alike so I hope he is hearing. I agree that he is no doubt in the edge of the woods watching everything. He was a stray that they took in (they take in all the strays they find; that's why they have so many) so he knows how to survive outside, even if there are other cats around. My Kitten (she's grown, tho) stayed out all night last night, which she's never done and this morning she was not at the door squalling as usual. She came from the direction of where Atticus ran to, so maybe............

If he headed for NY or Texas, trying to go home, he's in big trouble! Talk about confusion!

Cats have very keen senses of smell. If you have anything from your sister's visit that might have her scent, perhaps you could put it on the edge of the wooded area. Something like a pillowcase or if she left an item of clothing, etc.

I sure hope the kitty comes back.

Now you're talkin, Nancy, I never thought of that. I have not laundered the linen yet, so I can take a pillow case out there and hang it on a low branch in a tree at the edge of the woods. I know a cat's smell is 400 times stronger than ours - that might let him know it's at least friendly territory. Thanks for this. I will do it.

Ann....think I may have mentioned (a few times);) when we spoke that we have many cats visiting our backyard now that we have Abby. She does not even venture outside.

That "cat scent" must be potent and wafting though the neighborhood. There is a leash law in our town and the kitties are still out having fun. :)

I hope the kitty finds his way back to you soon.

Gina - ever try leashing a cat outside? Doesn't happen. We had a leash law in the last town where I lived, but the city fathers knew cats wouldn't abide by it - so they gave up and let the law apply to dogs only.

My elderly neighbor used to feed a few strays from the woods - pretty quickly there were many, many cats in her yard at feeding time. The food smell drew them, I guess. I counted them one evening when she took out many bowls of food and there were 20 or 30 cats out there - all of them feral, many of them with kittens who were also feral. They just appeared from all directions. Couldn't have been good for her, but her heart was big as all outdoors and she couldn't let them go hungry. Before her death, the animal folks came and trapped them all - but one, who escaped. That one showed up at her sister's house soon. After that sister's death, guess who was next in line? I took her to the vet, got her fixed, found an old lady with Alzheimer's; they fell in love instantly and went off happily together. Maybe they are still together. Hope so.

Cat on a leash? That ranks right up there with Nancy's Male Dominate with a sissy collar and bell. :D

Dearest Ann,
I'm so sorry to hear that you must have surgery. It sounds as if your surgeon is very positive about the outcome. Everyone here will help you get up that mountain and will certainly be on the other side. As so many have said, we need you here!

Many prayers and hugs,
fdeg

Bonnie, the closest store is miles away. I did put it on our local radio "Country Store" where people call in an sell/buy stuff - like a radio flea mkt. That was days ago and nobody has called - he may show up 4 months from now, like Nancy's cat.

Francesca - thanks for your good wishes. I have been up and over that mountain and if I can just remember to step in the same spots, I'll be on the other side in no time.

I guess if you treat Atticus as if he were a feral cat that you would feed every day, you might just coax him to come to you. Of course, then every other cat would come running too. LOL

Then What? Ann

Then What? Ann

When Atticus comes marching home again, hooray, hooray..  Will you keep him locked in house? You know he will make the big escape again..I'm like Nancy..put out food..then you will not feel guilty if he never comes back..Bet Nan has already forgotten him..He will live a happy life in Fla...:D :D :D Bonnie
