My brother in law is in surgery. They located the aneurysm and it is in the frontal lobe. Apparently it is a small one which makes it more difficult to clamp without causing additional damage. So things are looking a little bad right now but there are a lot og people praying for Jerry so I still have much hope.

I will update later tonight. His surgery is expected to last until around 7PM.

Thank you so much for your prayers.

Gina, I just got off work from volunteering today and saw your post. I will offer up prayers right this minute for you and your family.

Prayers!

Prayers!

Definately will add him to my list of prayers. You never can have too much prayer!~

Jerry just got out of a 6 hour surgery. The artery was clamped and the surgery "went as well as hoped for". The surgeon noted that the artery is very weak so the danger is not past. There is talk of another surgery to strengthen the artery but it would have been too much to do it today.

So, all in all, good news but with a wait and see side issue. He is expected to be in ICU for around 2 weeks until they have a better grasp on where this is heading.

I will update if things change. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. I have absolutely no doubt that you made a difference.

God bless.

Prayers going you way

Prayers going you way

You can be sure that I will say prayers and send positive thoughts your way. I am convinced that prayers work. You were so nice and reassuring when I was freeking out about my surgery.
So here are prayers going your way for you brother- in- law and sister and family. It must be so hard for a 16 year old to see her dad so sick.

Still sending our prayers and best wishes your way, Gina. We hope that the recovery goes well and this surgery will be all that is needed.

Hi Gina, I just got back in town and read this thread. I'm glad to hear things have gone as well as they have thus far. The next several days can be tough ones but hang in there. You can count on my prayers too.

Gina,
Sending prayers and positive thoughts across the ocean.

I was a little late seeing this one...

I was a little late seeing this one...

Because of my EGD yesterday and having no sleep for 24 hours prior, I have been asleep, and didn't get to see this one, but please know Gina, that I join with all the others in praying for your brother in law, you and your family during this difficult time of wait and worry. Harrybaby:eek:

Good news today. I went to see my BIL and he knew me the minute I walked up to his bedside (also knew my SO). Of course he looks awful - head and face swollen, tubes coming out everywhere and his 6'4" frame stuffed into one of those little ICU beds. All his vitals look good although his BP is a little high.

He spiked a temp of 103 while we were there so that caused a little activity. He was put on a cooling pad machine and they hung some more meds to bring it down. I am sure the cooling blanket will cause his back to flare up but the pain is worth it if he makes it through (I can attest to that).;) ;)

So, thank you for all your prayers. They are definitely working. There is still a long haul ahead as he has some speech slurring and may have some minor control problems but the doctor expects an almost full recovery of functions barring any more bleeding.

God Bless.
