I have not heard my mech. valve tick since about 3-4 months after implant. I can't recall ANY material lifestyle changes I've had to make. Warfarin, to me, is just another pill I take......but one thing is becoming clear, my 57 year old valve WILL last my lifetime......at least that's what my cardio tells me. He is probably correct since I am now 89 with a body that's wearing out......but the valve is still going strong.This is undisputed common knowledge at this point.
