I was 58 when I had surgery nearly 4 years ago, and I guess I can thank my surgeon for strongly steering me towards a mechanical valve. Him told “given you are in very good health for your age, if you select tissue, I will see you again” I am also grateful to the board members here who helped me get passed my fear of warfarin. It really is not big deal.
