I visited Chris on Tuesday and will again on Friday. He was awake and aware but had little energy to spare. I told him we would talk later when he was ready, but he should conserve his energy for healing. His wife reported today that he appears to be mobilizing fluid and has periods where he is more communicative. Still a long row to hoe ahead.

This brings back some terrible memories for me. It's like looking at myself all over again. I really do know what he's going through and you couldn't pay me to do it again.

Bill...thanks for being so diligent with the updates. Glad to see that Chris is battling and making progress. Sounds like he still has a very long road still ahead of him but it sounds like he is heading in the right direction. We are all saying prayers for him.

Thanks again Bill for the update. It is appreciated.
Echoing what others have said....(and Ross knows only too well), it looks like a long road ahead of Chris, but am grateful to hear of progress. I will (as always) continue to keep him and hisfamily close in my thoughts and prayers

Update from Friday visit: Chris is progressing noticeably. He was more able to talk today. He's trying very hard. He has a LONG way to go, as he is still breathing with a lot of effort, cannot sit up long, is still on a number of IV drugs to support his heart and kidney in the ICU. But he is making almost daily progress.

As long as everything is going in the right direction, it's all good, even if it's baby steps at first. My guess is that once he improves to a certain level, it will get exponentially better. I saw my husband in this condition several times, and he eventually did recover.

Bill, thanks for being such a good friend to Chris & family. I'm sure they really appreciate. When you get a chance, pass on my good wishes and let him know we're all thinking about him.

Even at two weeks out, he's at least speaking. I would have been out for what, another 3 or 4 weeks before I was to the point he is now. Like I said, way too close to home for me.

Thank you for the updates, Bill. I've been gone but wondering how Chris was doing. It's great to hear he's making progress and feeling better!

Michele
