Hey Nancy,
Thank you for the update. Sounds like they are doing a very thorough job checking Joe out. You and Joe are still in my thoughts and prayers.
Take Care

Nancy

Thanks for posting about Joe..and you take care, too...Continued prayers for all his tests tomorrow. Bonnie

Thanks for posting, Nancy and best wishes to Joe for all good test results.

Nancy, thank you for taking the time to post an update. You and Joe continue to have my prayers.

Nancy, sorry to hear Joe is back in the hospital. I hope his cath sheds some light on his problem so they can treat it. I, like the others will be thinking of both of you. Send Joe my well wishes.

One of the things that have shown up in rheumatic fever patients are anti-heart antibodies. I don't think everyone gets them but, when they do show up, they create very sensitive immune systems that mostly attack the heart. This was the reason I had my second OHS because the antibodies created excess scar tissue that encroached on the mechanical valve causing it to stick shut. After my second surgery, I was on prednisone for over a year to destroy the antibodies (which worked although I gained a lot of weight some of which I never lost). I guess you can't have everything. Rather have extra pounds than OHS every few years.

I have been overly sensitive to drugs, immune system issues, etc. I don't know if that is Joe's issue or not but it's possible. I am not even sure of the status of the research on anti-heart antibodies but they do exist.

Good luck and hugs to Joe (and you, of course). Be sure and take care of you.

Nancy, thanks for checking in. I read it last night. Figured you are tired, too and need rest. Take care of yourself. Please keep us posted and prayers are being offered for both of you.

Hi Nancy

Just want you to know that even though I won't be on the list for the weekend, you guys will be in my prayers and thoughts. We're heading to VA for the Memorial Day weekend to look at houses and visit with my cousin. Will check in Monday when we return. I'm praying for Joe, girlfriend.

I've heard that also Nancy. Never looked into it myself, so all I can do is confirm that I think your describing properly. Give him a hug for me and imagine one from me to you also. I think we've all had enough to deal with and more for a very long time. I hope someday, it passes us altogether.

He had his caths today, right and left. His pulmonary hypertension is not the culprit. That is in the mild range now, thanks to the miracle drug Tracleer. However, there is something with the heart and I don't know what. The pulmonologist spoke with me, but the cardiologist, I guess, was not ready to talk with us. I'm sure there are a few heads being put together on the heart issue.

Hopefuly, I'll know more tomorrow.

Hi Nancy and thanks for the update on Joe's condition. I hope you get a more precise answer tomorrow. So many people on the site having problems lately, but we have to remain strong and have faith that things will get better. Take care!

Thanks for the update, Nancy. I hope that all is resolved soon without too much intervention or stress. Will be thinking of you and Joe tomorrow as we do every day.

Nancy, we'll be praying our hearts out tonight. Please post when you can!

Nancy, hugs and prayers are coming your way. Take care of yourself too, you have been through a lot this past year.

Nancy,

I wanted you to know you're still in my prayers (and everyone else's too).
I hope you've been able to get some rest.
God Bless.
Mary
