I'm glad I just finished dinner out here in the west, or I'd want a midnight snack!!
So this is how boring I really am. I happen to do a lot of ironing. I know, most things come in permanent press these days. But we like all cotton and so for most of our casual clothes, I do iron them. It's a very Zen-like activity for me. Also, I turn on the TV and watch whatever is fun. Today, on E! I happened to catch a "special" (2+ years old, looked like) on the top 100 diet stories. All about our favorite movie stars.
Well, they had nasty comments from un-famous people, afew doctors, lots of personal trainers. There were before and after photos, and 30 second interviews with the stars (or just snippets of taped interviews. ANYWAY. What kept coming around for all these huge weight loss stories was small portions and 5-8 little meals a day. Over and over this was a success for people. Mostly everyone would eat veggies and fish. Some gave up all oils and carbs. There were some bizarre diets, of course, but the sensible ones who went for the LIFESTYLE change instead of the fast crash diet, seemed to be the healthiest looking. I got done ironing and the show went on, so I taped it and I"ll watch whatever else was taped and see if there are any more useful clues. Most of these very wealthy people had personal trainers, and of course, worked VERY hard to firm up for movies etc..
As for my week.....well......last week was the disruptive sleep study. This week we're having our house painted. I'm not getting out enough. NEXT week!!!! I have to get my routine kicked into gear again.
I've decided to pull out my vegetarian cookbooks, too. I like the idea of lots of veggies and small meat portions. Soups sound good too (our days are starting to get shorter and cooler.....I love fall).
The next time I shop I am going to buy some sweet potatoes!! That just sounds too good to pass up on. My hubby will love those!
