Forgive me Cooker for I have sinned.

Did you all know that the refrigerator at church is a dangerous thing. I'm here preparing for rehearsal and some other-worldly force pushed me into the kitchen and opend the refrigerator. There lay a plate of brownies left over from Sunday. I had one. Really, just one.:(

Karlynn....the question is "how big was the one you had? A pan of brownies can be cut into four pieces you know:D :p :D

The brownie in question was approximately 2 x 2 (that's inches not feet!!!)

Niki - I hope you like the taste of the sweet potato fries!

I did a little substitution with them and did 1 tsp of McCormick's Caribbean Jerk Seasoning (which I love and had on hand) in place of the Chili seasoning.

I'm glad I just finished dinner out here in the west, or I'd want a midnight snack!!

So this is how boring I really am. I happen to do a lot of ironing. I know, most things come in permanent press these days. But we like all cotton and so for most of our casual clothes, I do iron them. It's a very Zen-like activity for me. Also, I turn on the TV and watch whatever is fun. Today, on E! I happened to catch a "special" (2+ years old, looked like) on the top 100 diet stories. All about our favorite movie stars. Well, they had nasty comments from un-famous people, afew doctors, lots of personal trainers. There were before and after photos, and 30 second interviews with the stars (or just snippets of taped interviews. ANYWAY. What kept coming around for all these huge weight loss stories was small portions and 5-8 little meals a day. Over and over this was a success for people. Mostly everyone would eat veggies and fish. Some gave up all oils and carbs. There were some bizarre diets, of course, but the sensible ones who went for the LIFESTYLE change instead of the fast crash diet, seemed to be the healthiest looking. I got done ironing and the show went on, so I taped it and I"ll watch whatever else was taped and see if there are any more useful clues. Most of these very wealthy people had personal trainers, and of course, worked VERY hard to firm up for movies etc..

As for my week.....well......last week was the disruptive sleep study. This week we're having our house painted. I'm not getting out enough. NEXT week!!!! I have to get my routine kicked into gear again.

I've decided to pull out my vegetarian cookbooks, too. I like the idea of lots of veggies and small meat portions. Soups sound good too (our days are starting to get shorter and cooler.....I love fall).

The next time I shop I am going to buy some sweet potatoes!! That just sounds too good to pass up on. My hubby will love those!

Vegetables are a must on a diet. I suggest carrot cake, zucchini bread, and pumpkin pie. ~Jim Davis:D :D

I dunno. Part of my current problem is that when we first got married my husband got me a subscription to Gourmet magazine. Guess I should be thankful it wasn't a magazine that came in a brown wrapper!!! :p :p Then again......I guess I had already won the man.......... :D

Just Cooker's subtle way of trying to convert this into a sex thread. :D

He is relentless. :D :D :D

Brother, if I wanted to convert it, it would be a done deal:cool: And everyone would be wondering......"How did we get on this subject???"

Hi Fellow Dieters..The weekend is here..Be Good.:D Let's have some more weight loss Monday..Or at least No gain..:p I have loss my 1 lb for the week.:) ..Bonnie

Thanks for the encouragement Bon. I did exercise this morning and am planning to do so prior to the wedding.

Now back to drinking my water.

Monday will be a bad day for me..I have Jury duty..again....Our County is so small. we have to take turns.:p Every 3 years.....so will have to eat a filling breakfast to get me thru the process of their selection.. If chosen, I will have to eat a large lunch to get me thru the afternoon.. ...even with my saying I have a son in Law Enforcement..I was still chosen 3 years ago..the only time i was allowed not to go..was 1 month after my surgery..and had to have a written excuse from my Cardio..I was sooo pumpheaded..Must less..sitting thru a trial for someone who may have been innocent..I don't think I could have made a sound judgment.. Bonnie

Broiled Norwegian salmon steak tonight at favorite seafood restaurant. Small baked potato. Salad with low-fat dressing. I even passed up the hush puppies -- no small feat of willpower. Now for snack control and the weekend...:)

Weekends are usually when I allow myself a few treats but not this weekend. I found the best recipe for choc-chip-cookies (for the kids of course) and couldnt resist a taste-test or 3  . Thankfully the boys managed to practically finish the whole batch off and the pounds will go to their tummies not mine :D . These cookies are as delicious as brownies, crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I think I should not make them again until Christmas.

LOVED them. And when my hubby got home he raved about them. After eating just one he said "What did you put on these?!" After I told him he said "Man, we're gonna have to have these again!" We've always loved "yam fried" but those were done in the fryer and just sprinkled with salt. Apparently these were even better (not to mention better for us)!

I actually had to very it a tiny bit too, simply because I didn't have pumpkin pie seasoning. I just used cinnamon instead. I also added a little red pepper, some black pepper, and some "No Salt" salt substitute along with the chili powder. It was quite yummy. :D So were the salmon burgers.

I'm going to have a hard time this weekend, I can already tell. Last night my brother and sister-in-law came into town so they can help us paint at our new house. They live in a mall town with few good restaurants, so when they come here they always want to go out.

Last night we went to a Thai restaurant. I was planning to just have some soup (I love their soup), but my brother wanted to get several dishes and share with the table. So that's what we did. I ended up eating a half a crab cake, a cup of soup (couldn't pass up the soup. it's my favorite dish there), a small bit each of citrus beef, pad thai, and chicken curry. I did eat slightly smaller portions than I would have in the past (I got full pretty fast). Not sure how many of the calories stayed in me though... Curry goes right through me!

I know they love sushi, so I'm hoping to do that tonight. Much lighter and hopefully not as bad for my waist line (though they do order a LOT more than I would). And the sickening thing is, both my brother and sister-in-law are lean and beautiful... :( Maybe all the painting will help combat the calories?

Ok, we are kicking of the weekend!!! That perilous pre-time weigh in. USC vs. Georgia!!!
If I watch the game at home the snacks will be easy, if I head to the sports bar it will be hard. Man I love all those appetizers!!!

Anyway I just want to wish all of you ?losers? well!! As predicted my loss has been significantly less than the previous two weeks but I think I will be down a couple of pounds. I am trying to get myself in the ?Bonnie? mode and be satisfied with one or two ponds a week. I KNOW that SLOW is the way to go!! Let?s be weekend diet warriors!!!! We CAN do it!!!!

Could be Plateau time. (No that's not the name of a brand of prune juice. :p )

Except for a little Labor Day snacking, I have restricted the cals pretty well all week and exercised every day, and the scales have not budged so far. I don't expect the weekend to bring big change.
