Welcome to a new week in the long-running Throwdown -- and Week Three of the Great Pumpkin Race, boys against girls.

On a serious note, Superbob just saw some video from the terrible flooding that the tropical storm produced in Texas. Sending prayers that our Texas folks and their families are all getting through this okay.

As for hunks of chocolate cake, nope, none this week, Rhena. Superbob is being a good boy (a hunk? a babe? ) and is hoping for a good report when he weighs in tomorrow morning.

Here's hoping for a good week for all -- just a little better one for the guys than the gals, as they gradually whittle away at the gals' early lead. ;)

To be honest, I'm hoping to break even this week after my celebrations. I'm getting back in the groove, but maybe not enough time to lose much. There's always next week to make up for it though!

I will weigh in tomorrow as well ... having engaged the secret weight loss weapon I hope to show a loss that will put me back in the black ... I have had a great loss this week but making up for gained pounds kills the what would be fanfare ... with the new resolve all the guys seem to have the girls don't have a chance ... go ahead and sweet talk SuperBob all you want, he is a rock and will lead us to victory:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I will weigh myself when i wake up tomorrow. Hoping another big loss for the guys....... Yeah !!! Hip Hip Hooray. Mirror Mirror on the wall whose the sexiest of them all....:D

I'll be the first to chime in with my numbers.

Last week: 159
This week: 157

Loss: 2 pounds

On to victory!

Hmmmmm! Last week, the Yo-Yo Queen weighed in on Friday. Didn't the gals themselves say that everyone should weigh in on the same day of the week? This looks suspiciously as though Duffey is weighing early in order to begin an early weekend eat-a-thon. Mr. Chimp, what do you say -- are the girls cheating yet again?
:p:p

Do we expect anything less?:rolleyes2: ... it makes no diff ... they will go down er I mean up in flames:thumbup:

Oh, read it and weep guys! I'm down to 131.9 this week, even after the holiday party pig out. That's my WW goal. It seems the last of my post surgical intestinal sluggishness has "passed," puns fully intended. And no prune juice was involved!

I'm FINALLY theraputic on my warfarin, at 31 mg/week, 2.6 this morning. No more stinking lovenox shots! My Inratio gave exactly the same reading as the cardio's Inratio II. My cardio says today's echo looks great, no leakage from the new aortic valve, and minimal leakage on the repaired tricuspid, which is expected given the ICD leads running through it. And I get off the lasix except as needed (so I promptly celebrated with a lunch of chicken & dumplings at a great little hole in the wall, so I'll probably "need" some lasix tomorrow).

My surgeon says I shouldn't try to lose weight for the next several months. So I'm not. I'm just trying to eat properly and get back to exercising regularly, and to cut out the junk food - chicken & dumplings notwithstanding. I'm affirmatively trying not to GAIN any weight, which may be harder than losing it in the first place.

GO GALS!:biggrin2:

Your appt. sounds like it went perfectly, Laurie. Congratulations! You are doing wonderfully well!

Down 3.5 from last week ... the secret weapon has me back in the black ... I predict a runaway contest with the men leading the pack ... with Laurie at goal weight she is for all practical purposes a lame duck ... with several men in the weight range for possible big losses I think this thing is in the bag ... Yo-Yo queen = no threat ... Janie who I met two years ago does not have enough to lose to be a contender .... yep, I think the guys need to decide what we want for our prize:biggrin2:

Starting Weight: 233
Last Week: 202
This Week: 198.5

LOL - what's with all this early weighing in this week? First Duffey, now The Chimp. Have something to do with Vikings/Saints opening the NFL season tonight - chips and dip and fine beverages? :rolleyes2: Or the Deadbirds playing the Braves in Atlanta? :mad2:

Lots of eating anticipated? Superbob won't budge. He'll do calisthentics while watching old man Favre play tonight. (Shoot, he's not much younger than Superbob, and just about as gray. :D

I have to be up and out very early ... didn't want to wake anyone:biggrin2:

Eat til you drop.:D Eat healthy and exercises that is the most important :)

Good job Laurie, Mary and Cooker, and anyone else I missed. I'm too tired to re-read! Anyway, I will weigh tomorrow also, one day early for me. Cindy and I are going to an Argentine restaurant tomorrow night called Palermo Viejo. It's a going away dinner with a good friend who is making a permanent move back to his homeland, Malaysia. He'll be missed, but he'll be going out in style! So, needless to say, we don't want to weigh on Saturday!
