    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...8-14-09

Can it be Friday so I can report? ;) I happened to be passing by the scale nekkid, so I got on. I'm down 2 lbs!! :D Probably won't last 'til Friday, though, since I'm going out for lunch today. But, man, I've been craving Tex-Mex and can't wait! Bring on the chips and salsa! :D Though I'm...

What is the "Pillow" business about?

Believe it or not, my last lead revision was actually more painful than my 2 OHSs. They went in through my ribs. My mom gave me a peanut shaped foam pillow for Christmas (few days after surgery). It turned out to be just the ticket. It stayed tucked under my arm for weeks. Students looked...

What is the "Pillow" business about?

I feel gypped. I never got a pillow! :( Maybe because both of my open hearts were at children's hospitals (even though I was over 21 for both)? I got a quilt from Project Linus, though! :) I did, however, have my own pillow that my mom got me. I sill to this day (7 years after VR) sleep...

    Ugh! Not now. :(

Compete with you??? I wouldn't dream of it! ;)

    Ugh! Not now. :(

Ack! I realized this morning that I was incorrect in my discharge date. :( I will actually be in the hospital Sept. 1-4. Stupid math. :p I do look forward to starting the Sotalol, simply because picking up the kids, giving them baths, etc, is becoming increasingly difficult and leaving me...

I stayed the same. Guess that's the best I can hope for...

    Ugh! Not now. :(

I know this is something I have to do to make taking care of them easier. I just wish that the something they were doing didn't require going into the hospital or being away from my babies. :( My only consolation is that it doesn't require surgery, so at least I'll be able to pick them up when...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...8-14-09

I've been scarfing down my food so fast I barely get to taste it. Twins are not conducive to dieting. When I get a chance, I'll try to step on a scale.

    Ugh! Not now. :(

Thanks, Karlynn for understanding. I'm crying just thinking about it! At least I should get to see them some, just not much. :( This is what I call sheer torture!

    It's official: My heart's a brat!

DeVille said they could visit. But Nathan said he'd only bring them for short visits. :( They're on formula now, so it won't be a problem there at least.

    Ugh! Not now. :(

My husband will watch the twins. Which means he won't be with me. He said he would only bring them up for short visits so they don't disturb the other patients. I understand it, but I don't have to like it.

    Ugh! Not now. :(

Of course, my heart always picks the most inconvenient times to act up. Those who have been following along know that right as I was getting ready to start fertility drugs to harvest my eggs for our surrogacy journey my atrial lead broke. I was still able to do the egg retrieval, but...

    It's official: My heart's a brat!

I'm in the same boat. Only no one's offering ablation. I have to go into the hospital for 72 hours to get started on Sotalol/Betapace. :( Why couldn't this have happened BEFORE the twins were born??? I don't want to be away from them that long! I feel like doing what they do when they don't...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...8-7-09

One pound up. :( Probably all that fried chicken. :p We had guests 4 days this week. Three of those days said guests chose fried chicken joints for dinner. Nothing on the menu that's not fried. Except the green beans and mashed potatoes, which are cooked with lots of butter!

    New Job

Marguerite, I actually took all of my graduate courses online. And yes, it will be a lot of reading! There are 160 students in the class and I will be responsible for leading 2 groups (Not sure the size of the groups, but I think they were always around 10 people when I took the classes)...

    New Job

As soon as we knew we were planning to get pregnant DH and I discussed my work situation. I wanted very much to stay home for at least the first two years, but he was worried about $$. So we came to a compromise and decided I'd go to part time and work the days he doesn't (he only works 3 days...

When did you meet your surgeon?

I met my surgeon the day before I was supposed to have surgery. When we met, he threw us all for a loop and proposed doing something different than we had been told I was going in for. But the next morning he came in and told us he was not comfortable doing the surgery without further...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-31-09

I forgot to report once I finally got on the scale Friday... The pointer was hovering between 141 and 142. So I'm going to call it a .5 lb loss since last reported (never mind that it's a .5 lb gain from when I last weighed, but we couldn't report). Starting weight: 142 Friday: 141.5 Change: -.5

Be very careful regarding your medical records

I remember when I was moving from Houston to DFW (got married) I requested my medical records from the one and only cardiologist I'd ever had. As I read through the cath reports from when I was 3 days and 3 years old I read information I was unaware of (and I was always very aware of my...
