Believe it or not...

Believe it or not...

It's even been in the 90's here in Minnesnowta for about 3 weeks straight!
Other than last Mon, I think it topped out at a nice cool 75 degrees :) . That was a nice reprieve, but then it was back to the 90's again and it's supposed to continue....

At least it hasn't been quite as humid this week as it was the last couple. Here in Minnesota, we're famous for the line, "It's not the HEAT, it's the HUMIDITY!"

My BIL (my late sister's hubby), and all the kids are coming up from Phoenix in a few days...I'm sure our 90 degree weather will feel refreshing to them...even with the humidity! :D

Also, my niece, Shanna, (another one of their kids), will be here on leave from Iraq at the same time. I'm sure she'll really appreciate our 90's, I think it gets up to 120+ over there

(I guess I'll count my blessings :) )

The current temps are interesting...

The current temps are interesting...

As I am reading this thread, it is 12:30AM Central time.

At this time of night, there is not a whole lot of difference in temperature across the country!

Wherever HarryBaby is: 67 degrees
Sautee Nacoochee, GA: 70 "
Princeton, Minnnesota: 75 "
Janie, somewhere in TX: 78 "
Tucson, AZ, (Christina): 81 "

It seems strange to me that we are warmer here right now than Bonnie is in GA

According to my home page, it is 90 degrees in Phoenix at the moment, and 84 in Rapid City, SD...(I keep track of the weather where my kids live)

Bonnie,
I sure hope you had good weather for Kate's party! :) :)
It's still miserably hot here; 110 heat index! :( :( :( :(

Thanks Mary

Thanks Mary

The weather was perfect...First time in weeks that we did not have an afternoon thunderstorm. :D :D Daughter has lots of trees and with a tent set up for buffet..cake, ect..and lots of electric fans running..people seemed to be O.K. with the heat. :D A real Hawaiian Luau.. :D ..But, one pooped Granbonny here. :p Bonnie

Still hot...

Still hot...

it' s almost exactly 24 hours since my last post and we're still hotter than you, Bonnie! We are at 75* right now, which is only two degrees less than Christina in Tucson, and 3 degrees less than Janie in TX.

That doesn't seem fair somehow, they don't have to deal with -30 in the winter!

Anyway, we were at a wedding today, most of the church did not have AC, and the building that the reception was held at did have AC, but you'd never know it. The place was too small and we were packed in there like sardines, hot sweaty sardines...and everyone kept going in and out and leaving the door open, there was virtually no difference from the inside to the outside.

The most wonderful part of the whole day was the dance, the place had a concrete floor, and with the heat and humidity, the floor was sweating like crazy! You should have seen the poor bride's wedding dress  The bottom 6 inches of it were mud. I'm glad to be home.

Something different!

Something different!

Here in Curitiba it's been freezing and raining on and off for days now! Again, we ARE right in the middle of winter though!! I wouldn't mind some of your summer heat and dry weather for a change! LOL!!

It's 100 here - sigh. Teresa just mowed for 30 minutes. The lawn (uncut) is driving her crazy. I fixed a huge pitcher of ice water (2 trays of ice) for her and I was keeping watch and ready to put it on her if she passsed out! She has given up now. At least for the moment. They are advising us not to go outside from 11 - 4 p.m. and it's only 3:30 now. It will be no different at 4, tho. Even with the recent rains, we are in need of them again. it's been 2 days since we had any.

Not too bad today...but I forgot it was Sunday..when I told hubby I was going to grocery store 7 miles away. I came to our intersection..that joins the 2 lane coming from Atlanta. took me 10 minutes to turn left.. cars were backed up 6 miles from Helen (where we are famous for our tubing in summer) Heard that once they got into town it was a 3 hour wait for a tube bus to take them to headwaters. ..Hope the river was cooler than our pool..Stayed in pool 2 hours talking, ect. Was like being in a bathtub. Water was so warm. :D But, hey..NO thunderstorms for 2 days now. :D Bonnie

Rainy day in South Texas..

Rainy day in South Texas..

Nice rain all of a sudden today and boy is it nice and cool...

Talking about traffic jams Bonnie...I just drove in from down "South" and IH35 was a parking lot in the southbound lane from New Braunfels (we're famous for toobin' in the summertime too...) to San Antonio...ummmm about 20 miles! Sure glad I was going northbound.. :D

I was at a concert presented by Northern Ireland singers the other night and the choir "lost" 4 members during the performance because of the heat in the building... and the air-conditioning was on. The girls recovered, but sure were pale for a while.

OK Jean...bet we're close to the same temperature now...cold front blew in.. :D I just looked...you're hotter 'n us ...

I looked at your past posts and saw you should be 4 months? post-op now..Take it easy in that heat. About 8 years ago, we decided to drive to Ozarks in motorhome. I think we stayed at Eureka springs, Ark? SoooHOT and wanted to drive up to Branson..So HOT..Hubby would only park and let me run in to buy a shirt for Grandson..and took off back to Georgia. :D It reminded me of the type weather we have on our Georgia Coast in the summer..Open the Motohome door and BAM..you are hit with Hotand Humid air..Awful.. Hard to breathe in that type air. Bonnie

91 here right now and its 7:30 pm. It is also VERY HUMID
We have a pool for the kids but they like to run and jump in it and it getts the water all muddy :( They don't get the idea of playing in it without playing out of it. OH Well they are having fun. I guess maybe we should alternate with the sprinkler so I don't have to empty the pool everyday. It's a blow up pool so it's too big to just tip over and too small to have a filtration system

Suppose to get cooler this week so I will just stay in the AC til then. :D

Y'all would be proud of me. I was supposed to go dog racing this weekend up near Indianapolis. But with the heat index pushing 110 I was a GOOD GIRL and stayed home in the A/C. I hated missing the fun (I think the dogs missed it more) but thought it was just a little too hot to be out chasing the dogs around in the hot sun. No sense tempting fate.

I"m in Tampa, Florida and it's like living in a steam bath from June till the end of September. We start to get these afternoon thunder storms that you can set a clock by, everyday, 4:00 pm or so. We're not there yet, but we've been having these tremendous lightning storms that just roll in. They're both fasinating and scary, you walk into a store and come out into a war zone with bombs from the sky. Will

Speaking of hot -- I spent the whole day yesterday in Perryville, Kentucky, (Know where that is, Carolyn?) at a Civil War living history for the KY Governor's Scholars. My 17 year old rejoined his old reenacting unit and wore the wool uniform in 95 degree heat and humidity all day. I usually dress in women's garb but decided to just spectate yesterday. I was sweating bullets in shorts and a tank top. Can't imagine how the guys felt, but hey, all for the love of history.

Hey Yall

Hey Yall

Yes, just slightly over 4 mos. And believe me, I'm being careful. I find now that the heat just knocks me flat. Hubby has even been taking off and covering my store because of heat. I go home to ac. The humidty has been so high. Thanks for concern, I appreciate it.
