I am so sorry to hear this very sad news. Please know that Teddy and family are in our prayers.

Cindy,

Cindy,

I haven't been on the forums for a week but I was only thinking about you and Teddy the other day, wondering how things were. What a shock.

His death reminds me a lot of my brother's friend Mikey, who died showboarding in an avalanche last year. I think he and Teddy shared a special zest for life that so few people achieve in their lifetimes. I hope that Teddy's funeral was as full of love and good memories as possible. It's probably little comfort, but at least Teddy was having a great time when he died.

Sending prayers and hugs,

Gemma.

Cindy,
The article is a wonderful tribute to the spirit that was, and still is, Teddy.
You were blessed to have him, and he was blessed to have you.

Now I have to wait to go home until I stop crying. ;)

What a wonderful story and I feel so proud to have played some tiny part in Teddy's life. He has definitely mattered in this world, something we all strive to do (or I hope we all do).

Thank you, Cindy, for sharing this story as I am sure you are suffering even while you all are celebrating Teddy's life. Thanks for taking the time to include us.

God bless.

I read that article and the posts on the newschoolers.com page, perhaps you've read the ben adhem poem ( Son of Adam ) -- the measure of a human being is worth in the eyes of one's peers. Teddy was an exceptional indvidual.

James Leight Hunt said:
Abou Ben Adhem

Abou Ben Adhem (may his tribe increase!)
Awoke one night from a deep dream of peace,
And saw, within the moonlight in his room,
Making it rich, and like a lily in bloom,
An Angel writing in a book of gold:

Exceeding peace had made Ben Adhem bold,
And to the Presence in the room he said,
"What writest thou?" The Vision raised its head,
And with a look made of all sweet accord
Answered, "The names of those who love the Lord."

"And is mine one?" said Abou. "Nay, not so,"
Replied the Angel. Abou spoke more low,
But cheerily still; and said, "I pray thee, then,
Write me as one who loves his fellow men."

The Angel wrote, and vanished. The next night
It came again with a great wakening light,
And showed the names whom love of God had blessed,
And, lo! Ben Adhem's name led all the rest!
