There was some good news today. They will be transferring Joe to a regular monitored floor and they have started physical/occupational therapy with him, since he is as weak as a kitten. He did develop another infection (MRSA), but I don't think it is as problematic as the Klebsiella. So he's on a couple of antibiotics and is under contact precautions.

His doctor still says that his vitals are looking stable, but he is weak and malnourished from not being able to eat. The nasal feeding tube is going well, and his dialysis is also. His blood pressure has done really well during dialysis. I don't think that was expected.

They are even talking about discontinuing the oxygen.

Still going to be a very long haul.

So glad to read that things are stabilizing and that Joe is taking well to the dialysis. Hope you have some time to take care of yourself too Nancy. Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated.

so glad to read the positive update. you have been on my mind throughout the day. i am glad to hear joe is still making good progress. sending out prayers.

I'm glad to read this latest news, Nancy. Maybe progress will be measured in terms of baby steps, but steps they are!
