Being out here in earthquake country is a big concern for meds also. Everyone expects that things would be back to "normal" in a week or so, so an additional supply of meds kept on hand isn't necessary. No way will things get back to anything resembling normal that fast and I'm not willing to take that chance so have begun asking my PCP and cardio for an extra refill of our meds to keep a stock on hand, as well as a small supply in our vehicles because who knows where you could be when something happens. What would it have been like to have been in New Orleans stranded in that stadium or whatever it was without meds, let alone water to take them. Which is why the thought of a massive earthquake makes me nervous.
Ah ha, maybe this will provide a good argument for getting a home tester in the future from my HMO, who generally will not prescribe them. I keep trying to add to a list of reasons why I need to home test and will work on getting one once I can get my INR to stay in range on a more regular basis.
