I knew when I found this website, I had come home, to my VR.COM home! It is the most comfortable place to be. I don't get a chance to post often (due to my long work days), but I do try to read what has been happening to our vr.com family. I joined officially in May of 2001, I believe. 2 months after my surgery. I didn't have vr.com to settle my nerves before, but I did have a place to go to for comfort and questions post surgery.
I was actually afraid to log on at first. I had emailed Rain (such a sweetheart)and she encouraged me to join. I thank her and I thank Hank over and over again for creating this site.
Yes, it's true. We have a lot of very compassionate people on this site. We also feel comfortable to tease with each other, we cry with each other when one of our members is hurting, scared, happy, sad, you name it, we are there for each other. We welcome all new comers with open arms and reassurance. We pray for each, have prayer chains, we exchange lots of information or can direct a person where to go for there answers if possible. We have a lot of researchers, hands on experience. No one understands us like we do each other.
This is a very AWESOME website! I am very glad I found it. I don't know how I would have coped for the last 2 1/2 years without it. I know I wouldn't have been at the reunions either. I would never have met all the wonderful people in person that I did at the Nashville and Vegas reunions. I hope to meet many more at our Chicago reunion. It really was a godsend that I found this site. I feel we have such a comadarie (sp?)together, like I've not seen on any other website. We are a great group, and again I'm glad I found you all!
