A start is a start ... slow, fast, big or small ... just getting started and sticking with it is the key ... I will have to consult the Grand wizard Of Exercise (me:tongue2:) on Farm Town counting as exercise .... I'm leaning toward no ... but there is minimal finger movement ... I'll let you know:wink2:

Lily, are you exercising on one of those new upright models of bikes.? They look like a huge improvement over the old styles.
No, it's not the upright kind.

It's model 202, if you want to look it up but it's more like sitting on a very comfy chair and just pedaling :) Gotta like that.

I read lots of reviews and this is the one I settled on. Took an expert diesel engine man to put it together though -- my dear husband :) One of my favorite things is that it makes no noise at all. My other two began loud and got louder over the years -- eventually pretty annoying.

Oh, only twenty minutes this morning. But even that feels good!

Density Altitude

Density Altitude

I wanted to drop this latest experience with density altitude in somewhere too. We were flying into an airport the other day with an elevation of about 1500 feet and the automated weather had a density altitude warning of 4000 feet! That's quite a difference. On the hot and humid days, there is less oxygen (for the plane) and for everyone's lungs. Something to think about when you feel more exhausted than usual after exercising on a hot and/or humid day.

I will tell you that I woke up with a food hangover this morning and really did not want to walk, but I did and am glad of it ... The Cheese Cake Factory is wonderful but there is NO way not to over do it ... glad it is 75 miles away:biggrin2:

Cooker, what time do you get up in the morning to go for your walk? You are making us all look bad!!!

I order "Lettuce Wrap" which takes me a while to chew...tasty and light. I love it. Of course, we always order the Avocado wrpas?!! Yum yum...

I will be going for my walk around 3:30pm. 2 miles.

Just came back from the gym.....

.....did my 1-1/2 miles on the treadmill while watching my TV:wink2:, plus....
.....two reps of 12 on 15 "weight assist" machines:cool2:......and now...
......it's time for my nap:biggrin2:.

I'm wandering around the house. How's that?

Excellent for our Throwdown's most recent surgery patient! Keep wandering Laurie - but not too much! Bet it feels good to be home!

I did my 2 mile walk in the air conditioned adn very flat mall today and also bought new bed linens. That last part didn't burn any calories though! ;)

Cooker that walk had to help with the food hangover.

Great job everyone! ... with just a week of walking under my belt I am feeling better, my arthritis has been better and my attitude is better ... work has been extremely stressful and the walking has greatly help my state of mind:smile2: ... I can't express how grateful I am that so many have joined in and are being active on this thread ... one pitfall I need to avoid is thinking I can have a few more snacks because I am exercising ... it takes a lot more walking than I am doing to undo a mixing bowl full of banana pudding:biggrin2:

I work across the street from Chees Cake Factory. It's nice that it's staring me in the face every day. : ( I'm also a stone's throw (literally) from a place with very good milkshakes (you get only one guess as to which place it is : ) )

Other than moving to new living quarters, my potato is still on the couch. I have helped walk the dogs. Now I'm lifting my coffee cup. Someone scrape me up from the road of life because I feel flattened on it. ; )

My reports are rather boring to post every day. I walk Superdawg twice a day and I work out a half hour in the workout room about every other day. Not sure posting that every day adds anything. If I do something different or in addition, will note it.

My daily reports will also bore most. It's almost the same as it's been since 1976. Walk 3 miles in 45 minutes.

But there is some difference than earlier. I had been walking at 6am but due to it being 84 F and high humidity have started using our treadmill. I now get to sleep in.

Ugh, after an unusually cool early summer, the heat and unusual humidity has descended on us here. Ick. I have a zillion errands to run today and that will have to be my exercise. Missed yesterday too :(

Oh Man. Missed two days of cycling. I'm gonna walk to whole food for lunch right now thats 1/2 miles after work gonna walk to pick up my daughter from swimming lesson which is another 3 miles. So thats a big 3 1/2 miles of walking today... yeee hawww
