In keeping with a tradition that has been waning of late, I'd like to invite as many of you as possible to rekindle the Sunday night chats. They start at 5pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time in the U.S. so that many of our across the pond members can join in the fun too.

I'll try to make an appearance as much as possible. For me, it's getting into my supper hour and then bed time since I have to be back up at 4am, but I'll do what I can.

I encourage you to invite another member or even some of the new people and come along for some fun, friendship, zaniness and fellowship, classic of VR.com.

For those that have never been on chat, you need to register with the chat client and unlike the forums, you can use free web based (Real accounts!) email addresses for registration purposes.


Folks I'm sorry, but we are going to start fresh with chat. I just went and looked at users and there are many multiple profiles from the same people, fictious email addresses or no addresses at all, some people that aren't even registered and God knows what all. We can't have that. I went through 3 of about 15 pages and found multiple problems. I don't have the time to sit and go through 15 pages confirming things when out of 3, I know there is major problems. Everyones accounts were deleted and it all starts anew.

In order to chat, you will need to reregister if you already have at one time. If you never did, you will need to now.

That's for the invite Ross, seems like Sunday nights Chat has been dwindling to just a few of us. It really is pretty cool talking to people that live so far away and you have so much in common with.

I hope you and others here will invite some of our new members to Chat. It seems that many folks here do not know that we have a Chat scheduled for Sundays, beginning at 5PM EST. Many do not know that we have a chat period!!!!

I so appreciate Ross for his help and counsel about alerting members to this very special feature that VR.com has...It's to nice to talk to folks in "real time." And, I will be the first to admit that I will be interested in seeing Ross on Sunday because I am sure that his humor will enliven our Chat.

Hope you can make it on Sunday.... Would you consider inviting another member to join us on Chat this Sunday?

I didn't know you could lurk on chat. Doesn't having to login preclude that possibility? I am not looking for a way to lurk; I am just curious.;):D;)

To my knowledge, they'd have to register, but if it's operating on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) channels, which I think it might be, then anyone with an IRC client could negate the security measures of registration.

Yes dear. I deleted everyones accounts after seeing what I saw last night. I'm not about to spend days going over the mess I had found in the first 45 registration I saw and some 200 others to look through. :eek:
 
We've had people sign in with other names and just "watch" or lurk.
I think it's preferable to sign on and register with your same VR sign on name, otherwise it gets very confusing.

I can't imagine registering with any other name than the VR one. Would there be any reason for changing the name? Maybe that would be a flag to Ross - get rid of anyone you do not recognize as a VR.com member to avoid future clutter.
 
We can't exactly refuse or get rid of these unrecognized sign ins because we do get the occasional "visitor" who is in reality a heart patient and needs help.
For example: I believe that Freddie was one of those initial "visitors" .

Sorry - I would have assumed (first problem I guess:rolleyes:;)) that people would join VR.com before chat.
 
Ross, Did I register ok. I thought I was already registered but I did it again so did I do it right or did I double register?

I joined both at the same time, and went to the chat room first to hear from chatters direct advice!! I was so lucky and had a bunch of whom I call my angels! Cooker was the first one in the chatroom who alleviated my fear with his serious answers and made me laugh which alleviated my anxieties, then I enjoyed it more and more when Bina joined, then Norma, Crystal, Freddie! (I apologize if I forgot to mention others...my mind was at its worst functioning and racing so fast...it was not under control!) It was a great relief to me and my impression was WOW!!

Mind you that was a brave step for me (yet the right time)...I never ever had gone to any chatroom before!!
