I also assumed that folks would join the Board first and then join Chat. It makes perfect sense to me. But, that's not always true. In fact more than a few people have joined the Chat and thought that that's all there was!

Some of us check into Chat everytime we go on the board. I have found more than a handful of folks in Chat looking for vr.com. Late one night I found a young man from Phoenix looking for help. He was having surgery in a short time, and like me, he could not sleep that night. Ross got him registered in time for him to gain information for his upcoming surgery.

I think the most heart warming incident was a young woman from Iran who could not get registered. She was absolutely beside herself. One of our members and I spent so much time with her. Again, Ross to the rescue. That young woman does came back from time to time.

I am sure many folks here have success stories about the Chat and the help it has provided for our members and would-be-members.

We've had people sign in with other names and just "watch" or lurk.
I think it's preferable to sign on and register with your same VR sign on name, otherwise it gets very confusing.

Too late!
I'm Frenchie on Chat, and Frenchie I will stay!:p
Too many Marys on Chat to keep straight, but only one Frenchie.;)

Mary thanks, for letting me know who Frenchie was. I had no idea you had another name!
You are a women of many surprises!! :D

Gadgetman,I love that little guy with the faces. I feel that way most of the time!

I agree, as I feel embarassed sometimes to keep asking 'who are you on the Forum?!

We can't exactly refuse or get rid of these unrecognized sign ins because we do get the occasional "visitor" who is in reality a heart patient and needs help.
For example: I believe that Freddie was one of those initial "visitors" .

I went to the chat room before going to the Forum!

Ross, I re-registered.

And by the way WHO'S Frenchie????

I was going to ask this question but I waited for someone else to ask :D (Sorry C)
You know who easily it is to confuse me ;). I like "The Ref" as Bina mentioned.

And if "Frenchie" is going to "stick" and desires the French experience........well I'm not sure about anybody else, but I'm 100% French.....oh crap enough said.
