Betty,

You have been there for so many folks. First, our prayers are with you. Second, on the floss thing - my favorite little helper is the "new" hummingbird flosser. It is held by one hand and is electric - about $6. Another neat gadget while 1 handed is called go-betweens. They are a little bigger than a toothpick in size and are a brush. They go in between the teeth and are wonderful. On the spot on the roof of your mouth - most times the patients get an A-OK from the oral surgeons. Hope you do too. God will get you through the rest of your current challenges. (We'll be your cheering section.) Most folks on here have beaten the big one - heart surgery. I am glad you shared your concerns - support is one of the things we as friends are all too glad to give you.

Whew Betty, that's a LONG list...

My only advice is to take it one day at a time and one problem at a time.

BELIEVE ME, I KNOW how you feel about Coumadin complicating other issues and procedures! :( It's not fun to contemplate so try not to go there too often or for too long.

I believe I am the one who told Christina L to "BE BRAVE". I'll say the same to you and hope all goes well for you in the coming weeks.

BE BRAVE,

Thank you for letting us know.

Thank you for letting us know.

Betty I'm really glad that you shared all that with us because that's why we're all here, isn't it?? My warmest wishes for you that everything results in a positive way.

Keep the faith. At the very least, you've caught the most serious sounding things early. That's always a good thing.

Let us know! Best wishes.

Oh Betty, it doesn't seem very fair for you to have all this dumped on you at once. Honestly - that Karma Fairy really needs to have a good kick in the pants!!!! I hope everything comes back OK.

Best wishes and lots of hugs,
Anna : )

Betty,

I will be driving right by your area on my way from Durham to Florida on Saturday. I will toss some hugs & prayers out the car window in your direction.

Please take care.

Gina, if you think you will have time to stop I'll PM you info. If you can't, I will understand. Once we are on the way to someplace my husband won't even so much as choose a gas station on the other side of the highway!

Betty,

I'm so sorry to hear you've got all these things to deal with at once. Even one of them would have me stressed out big time.

But as your "birthday-sister" ;) I feel I should point out that tomorrow is OUR DAY :D and it's going to be a great one! Put everything on hold apart from enjoying yourself and have one of Bob's suggested "medicinal remedies".

Sending big hugs ((((((( :) )))))))

Gemma.

*chuckles*

I _hate_ (yes, you read correctly) having to get gas at a gas station that is even slightly out of my path. Why? I don't like wasting the time to go to it ... and even that short of distance can help drop gas mileage a few points ;).

BUT...I always try to take time to stop and see people ... whether at their home or somewhere "along the way" ... it just makes the drive/trip that much sweeter ;).

Betty,

I would love to stop by and see you. It would only be a brief "hello, nice to meet you" visit as we will be trying to make south Georgia by some reasonable hour on Saturday night. However, we do need to make stops and Pinehurst sounds like a perfect place to spend an hour or so.

Send me a PM with info. Hopefully it will work out.

Cort - ain't road trips fun? I much prefer this to flying.

Betty,

The week of my recent cath Samatha (4) had a rebellious moment and knocked down a 25 lb. concrete statue RIGHT on top of her head. I was getting my bloodwork done at the time when my husband called to say, "Meet us at the ER." He had called an EMS. (She's fine, mild concussion and a lot of boo-hooing).

Sam's our child that we have to watch 24/7. Having no common sense, she appears to be a chip off my husband's block. ;)

Seriously though, we didn't need the added stress as I'm certain you don't.

You are and will always be in my prayers. Thanks for your recent support. Please keep us posted.

With love,

Oh Betty, I really feel for you! What a lot to land on your plate all at once. I hope all results come back all clear!!

Love Emma

Just a little update

Just a little update

I had an appt. with my Gyn this morning about the breast lump. He said he couldn't predict which way it would go but that is what mammograms are for. Thursday I get diagnostic mammograms. No surprises there.

This afternoon I had the appointment for my MRI results. The hospital had not sent over the films with the reason given as they were still reviewing them. They did send over a report but my ortho said he wanted to see the films himself.

Results:

1. Undersurface tear supraspinatus tendon
2. 1 cm lesion in the proximal shaft left humerus may represent an enchondroma.

I don't need surgery at this time (and might never need it) but will start PT next week. :) I had some more x-rays of the humerus today and after he sees the films of the MRI may order a bone scan (radiology is recommending this). I wasn't familiar with an enchondroma but now know it is a bone tumor that rarely turns malignant but should be followed. The finding is most likely an incidental finding. So the results could have been better but they could have been a lot worse too.

Marty.....if you read this does this sound about right?

Anyway, that was my day today. Tomorrow I plan on spending the day just plain being a grandma to my 13 month old granddaughter and put this all out of my mind until Thursday.

Thanks again for everyone's support!

Thanks for posting Betty. I'm sure you are greatly relieved about the shoulder and I hope all the other results are as positive. Enjoy your granddaughter- I have two, age 5 and 6 and they are the loves of my life as I'm suire yours is to you.

That's one of the worries out of the way! I'll keep my fingers crossed for Thrusday too! Enjoy your day tomorrow and take care!
Débora :)

Betty,

You are still in our prayers. Glad you got good news. Big hugs coming your way.

Just want to add.........

Just want to add.........

my love and prayers that this does turn out to be a "big to do about nothing." Hugs. Janet

Betty,

I'm glad to hear that you won't need surgery on your shoulder. Physical Therapy can take a while but will hopefully resolve your remaining issues.

After my AVR, one of my favorite Rehab machines was the 'arm cycle' that looked like bicycle pedals that you move with your hands, forward and / or backward, with variable resistance. This machine really loosened up my tight shoulder / upper back muscles.
