The Vantus is basically the XS with some added features. It uses the same method to determine INR and prothrombin time, and the same strips.
They've modernized it with better menu, bluetooth, and a nicer interface.
I'm not sure the value of the Bluetooth component, because I think it's designed only to report your readings to a monitoring service (although I might be wrong about this).
When I spoke to Roche, they told me that they own all the meters, and that they only LOAN them to their clients and get them back of the client is no longer using their services.
