thanks; so that's 529 days (or 1 year, 5 months, 11 days) from manufacture to expiry
so I'm going to conjecture that Roche aim for 18 months at manufacture.
I'm a bit nervous about all the Roche strips in the one manufacturing location basket....
perhaps you've not heard about the land war in Europe right now?Sure, it's a concern, but at least there's an ample window to correct any manufacturing catastrophes.
492 days (1 year, 4 months, 5 days ) ... interestingly not always the same ... but very close to 500 daysReceived today, made in Germany. 26/6/2024. exp 31/10/2025
there are a number of systems which do not properly support FFox ... so I have to use Edge or Chrome ... it varies. And here's something REALLY crazy though. On my windows10 PC using Firefox, which is what I used to place the order, I CANNOT get to my account screen AT ALL.
but on my win10 PC
Good Morning Slipkid, and a Happy New Year.First, Happy New Year to everybody.
Not really doing any celebration tonight here so I thought I'd use my time wisely and order some more Coaguchek XS strips. Decided to try SelfCareDepot for the first time.
Want to say how it went and mention some weird things I ran into...
- Was able to order a box of 24 strips. Priced about the same as other vendor I have used (after the other vendor 10% off code). The order page defaulted to expiration of August 31, 2025. But I noticed a pull down arrow on that info and if clicking that it showed expiration of October 31, 2025 for $5 so I went for that.
- Checkout was ez, I tried the discount code mentioned a page or so ago but that was not valid (no problem, think it might have only been for November?).
- They list their address on their site as being "Long Island City 11101" which is New York (USA) so I was surprised after checking out to receive a notification from my credit card warning that I had a transaction out of the USA (from Canada). Maybe Selfcaredepot's corporate headquarters, or at least billing, is in Canada (?). No biggie but I was confused to get that alert. And think my credit card might charge me an extra buck or two for that but whatever...
- I noticed from the box of the strips depicted that Roche must have changed/updated their strips. Last time I ordered the box specified "Coaguchek INRange" and "Coaguchek XS" on the box beneath a banner for "Coaguchek XS PT Test PST" but these new boxes say "Coaguchek XS", "Coaguchek XS Plus", and "Coaguchek XS Pro" beneath a "Coaguchek XS PT Test" banner.. The Roche reference # on the boxes is also different - my current box says "07671687019" but the new ones say "04625358 003". Again no biggie but had me scratching my head b4 pulling the trigger to buy to make sure I was buying the right thing.
- At some point during checking out (think it was at the end? I 4get) it gave me the option to create an ID on their site for making it easier to track orders or something like that. But then it really got confusing. Selecting that it said it sent me an email to confirm. And the email had a link in it to go to their site - and "change my password" (even though I didn't have a password yet). OK no problem I did that, I created a password. But there is NO WAY to "login" to look at anything.
For example, they sent me a confirmation email with info about my order (actually 2 of them - the 2nd included a PDF file order invoice). In both those emails it had a button for "View My Order". In fact, in the 2nd email it actually said "Your Invoice is attached to this email, or you can log into Self Care Depot and view your order." above the View My Order button.
Both of those buttons resolve to a link for "https://selfcaredepot.com/account".
And trying to use that made absolutely no sense at all.
That took me to a :Login" screen that gave options for checkout as guest, I have a password, and I'm a new customer. When I tried the I have a password option and entered that along with my email above it it gave me a message about not having an account yet (or something). So I tried the "checkout as guest" just to see if that would get me to something that worked but that took me to a screen that said gave an option for Complete Your Purchase Now but clicking that said there was nothing in my basket.
Finally I gave up and tried things again, on a different PC and although then I could get it to work it was also confusing. I went to the account link above. I selected I have a password again and entered my email and the password. That took me to a screen that said "Your basket is empty". At that point I was about to give up but for the hell of it I decided to press the BACK button.
And guess what? THAT WORKED. That took me to a totally different screen that says "ACCOUNT" on top and underneath that has option squares for various things like "Account", "Addresses", "Orders", "Quotes", and "Logout".
And beneath those it says "Your Orders", a box for searching Orders, and also showed the order I just placed - but confusingly has the status of "Dispatched" (which is impossible - I just placed the order, and it is New Years Eve fer chrissakes - even if someone works 24 hours there, it would not be possible for them to ship it yet!!).
However I noticed a "View+" button and when I clicked on that, it expanded the information to show that there is a USPS tracking # created for my order, along with the USPS link to check that - which does show a label has been created, and similar to ebay, when a seller creates a label then ebay sends you a message to say it's been "shipped" (or in this case "dispatched", which is nonsense - could be a week b4 anyone packs the order and mails it. Again no biggie, but I hate that bs....
And here's something REALLY crazy though. On my windows10 PC using Firefox, which is what I used to place the order, I CANNOT get to my account screen AT ALL. I could only get to that on this older PC running an old browser by what I described above (going to the account link, entering email & password, being taken to a page that said my basket was empty, hitting the back button and getting to the real account page), but on my win10 PC - that does not work. If I hit the back button there it takes me to a different screen which says "You can sign up after checkout", with only an option for "Complete your purchase now", which if I click that takes me back to the page that says my basket is empty. Sheesh. So I guess it is stuck in some kind of loop on the win10 PC and I cannot get to my account on there - at least not in that Firefox browser. I'll screw around that with that more later (next year) not now, maybe there is a cookie all futzed up that I have to delete manually clearing cache or something.
Anyways, hope this helps anyone else (if you can follow this), and enough from me on this New Year's Eve.
Just slipping into my heat protection

have you considered trying out Linux Mint?
Linux Mint has many advantages, including:
- Security: Linux Mint is generally considered more secure than other operating systems due to its open-source nature, strong community support, and built-in security features.
- Customization: Linux Mint offers a high degree of customization, allowing users to choose the look and behavior of buttons, menus, and other UI elements.
- Easy updates: Linux Mint updates are seamless and install quickly, with no forced updates and long-term support. Updates are managed through a single software manager.
- Easy to use: Linux Mint has an intuitive desktop and is designed to be easy to use for anyone.
- Environmentally friendly: Linux Mint requires fewer resources than other operating systems, such as Windows 11.
- Productivity: Linux Mint can help users be more productive.
- Good for beginners: Linux Mint can be a good choice for younger children to learn computing
I've normally got it up and running for folks in about 20 min ... of course if you're a photoshop user don't do it.
Happy New Year
