Go see Al Gore's movie, then talk to everyone you know -- elephants and donkeys alike -- we've got to stop this thing now. Clinton just announced steps that can be taken. Google the issue.
I thought teachers always loved to get back to school!Sherry said:Yes, I'm irritable because school starts for me tomorrow. Goodbye summer. Remember those days, Miss Mary?

I realize that you have only been here for four months, but it is kind of an unwritten rule around here that our valve debate get hot enough, so we discourage debates about politics and religion. No sense interjecting such a
hot (no pun intended) topic in what is meant to be a thread to blow off steam
and have a little fun.
If you want a debate on this topic there are thousands of pro-con websites and blogs to go to let the fur fly. Not one of them will give you as much information on HVR as this one.
Just some friendly advice.

My husband and I discussed that possibility ourselves last night. I don't know if anyone remembers the episode on The Twilight Zone where the woman is in a world that is turning to ice? As it turns out, she's dreaming, and at the end of the show they reveal that the Earth has gotten a little out of kilter and everyone is actually burning up. Either way, I don't like it!
Sherry, I'm so sorry you're about to start back to work. I think they're opening schools way too early; they need to wait until after Labor Day. I'm contracting out for six to eight week periods, so I can choose when I want to work. And right now I'm choosing not to go back until October!
RCB, teachers love to go back to school just as much as students love to go back!
Rossgurlie, if you're running in the Texas heat, I only have one thing to say--YOU GO GIRL!
Ah, and Mr. Gadget-Wadget, so glad you dropped in to let us know that Basra is almost as hot as some places in the Midwest!
Marguerite, I'm with you . . . let's not play "heat wave keep away" between the East and West coasts, because the rest of the country is stuck in the middle!
Niki I'd really be grumpying if I were dealing with pseudo hot flashes, stress tests, and school in 10 day's time. Yuck!
Hey Wise! HOW HOT IS IT IN KY? I hope your mom is doing OK through all of this!
Wise,Wise said:Mom it's supposed to be 91 today, so we're hot enough. A little less heat is in the forecast for here in the coming days. My mom is doing okay. Since she's using her oxygen all the time, she feels better. She even turned on their AC (thank God), to the dismay of my stepfather (he wears long sleaves shirts in this weather --- he needs some spice in his life is he's that cold). Mom goes for a followup visit with the pulmonologist tomorrow; his regimen seems to be working though. Thanks for asking.
