Thanks a Bunch
Thanks a Bunch
Again, just wanted to thank everyone for your posts - they sure do make this recovery time go faster.
Ross, congrats on grandfatherhood. I'll probably start catching up on reading old posts soon so hopefully I'll learn all about it.
Anne-Marie, if memory serves me right, you are soon for climbing the mountain. Keep me posted - I'll be glad to lend support any way I can (just quit spending all that money on you Recovery Room!)
Gina and Gail, yes I certainly do remember getting the Easter basket blessed (don't know of a church here in Denver that does that). The Polish nurse I had is engaged to a guy who owns a Czech restaurant in Denver and she said they make good golabki (stuffed cabbage) and pierogi! What a blessing to find -we will go the first day I feel up to it. My family made a goulash on Easter that had sausage, ham, rye bread, eggs, miscellaneous and was topped with horseradish and buttermilk (we tell people it's ranch dressing). Don't think it's widely made but I make it every year. If that doesn't get my appetite back, nothing will
And, Gina, yes it was many, many years ago my "old neighborhood" is Milwaukee Ave. and Ashland!
Janie, wouldn't that have been something if we had some distant bloodline? My grandmother is from the mountains of Southern Poland, though, little two called Nowa Tag by Zacopani (sp?) where the nurse was from. She married a man from Sicily so I eat Polish food while drinking Italian reds (a Polish **** - oh my!
)
Bonnie, yes, must be the Saints are with us, huh?
Joy, we do need a shuttle. That walk is a little unfair. And, Tim, let's get that insidious truck driver caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!
Finally, extra thanks to my fellow Coloradan and good friend Rain. Thanks for posting but also thanks for all that extra support just before surgery. You'll never know how much that helped.........
So everyone, hopefully we'll get back to yada-yada brotherhoods and sisterhoods soon but I am hopefully drifting off soon.
Paul
