Hey Paul,

I'm sorry I missed your big party here, but I just wanted to say how happy I am to hear about your surgery! It's sounds like everything went wonderfully, and you sound great! So glad for that 2-for-1 deal; you can move on now and get all that behind you. Take it easy and keep on being good!

Jennie

Thanks a Bunch

Thanks a Bunch

Again, just wanted to thank everyone for your posts - they sure do make this recovery time go faster.

Ross, congrats on grandfatherhood. I'll probably start catching up on reading old posts soon so hopefully I'll learn all about it.

Anne-Marie, if memory serves me right, you are soon for climbing the mountain. Keep me posted - I'll be glad to lend support any way I can (just quit spending all that money on you Recovery Room!):D

Gina and Gail, yes I certainly do remember getting the Easter basket blessed (don't know of a church here in Denver that does that). The Polish nurse I had is engaged to a guy who owns a Czech restaurant in Denver and she said they make good golabki (stuffed cabbage) and pierogi! What a blessing to find -we will go the first day I feel up to it. My family made a goulash on Easter that had sausage, ham, rye bread, eggs, miscellaneous and was topped with horseradish and buttermilk (we tell people it's ranch dressing). Don't think it's widely made but I make it every year. If that doesn't get my appetite back, nothing will :) And, Gina, yes it was many, many years ago my "old neighborhood" is Milwaukee Ave. and Ashland!

Janie, wouldn't that have been something if we had some distant bloodline? My grandmother is from the mountains of Southern Poland, though, little two called Nowa Tag by Zacopani (sp?) where the nurse was from. She married a man from Sicily so I eat Polish food while drinking Italian reds (a Polish **** - oh my!:D )

Bonnie, yes, must be the Saints are with us, huh?

Joy, we do need a shuttle. That walk is a little unfair. And, Tim, let's get that insidious truck driver caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law!:)

Finally, extra thanks to my fellow Coloradan and good friend Rain. Thanks for posting but also thanks for all that extra support just before surgery. You'll never know how much that helped.........

So everyone, hopefully we'll get back to yada-yada brotherhoods and sisterhoods soon but I am hopefully drifting off soon.

Paul

Paul - All the joking aside, it is really wonderful to have you back so soon, and doing so well. I will have to (try to) model my attitude after yours. Now if I can locate a care team as wonderful. . .

Keep up the good work.

Paul:

Again, congratulations!

And best wishes for a joyouse Easter! By the way, our priest in Irish, through and through, but blesses the baskets this Saturday.

I'm so glad too!

I'm so glad too!

Paul,

Reading your posts has been wonderful. I'm so glad they could do a repair instead of a replacement. Which of the coronary arteries did you have bypassed?

I rejoice with you that you are over the mountain and pray for a fast and uneventful recovery. You were always on my mind until we heard from you. Betty:)

They said they wanted jokes, so I gave you some light humor. I am glad you made it, you sound great! I hope you continue on this speeding amtrak to the finish line of recovery! Just don't rush yourself, just sit back and enjoy the ride....let your friends and family do the work FOR you. You just relax. You've gotten over the mountain now come on down and meet us at the finish line. We really need a shuttle...I'm exhausted just thinking about it!

You are very welcome, Paul.

You are very welcome, Paul.

Paul,

I?m so happy to have been able to help you when you needed it. There is a person here in vr.com who did the same thing for me when I was about to have the surgery. I was searching the net for information when I crossed paths with our very own Rich, he sent me a few e-mails answering the zillions of questions I had. I didn?t realize it at the time, but his telling me that it really wasn?t all that bad and that I would be okay were just as important to me as the answers he gave to my questions. (thanks again, Rich!)

That?s what makes this place special. I?m thrilled to know I was a help to you. :) I think no matter how well prepared you are... its still a pretty overwhelming experience. It really helps to have someone who's been there tell you it isn't so bad.

Paul,

Congratualations on a successful repair! Getting a 2 for 1 to boot! Welcome to the other side! I'm so glad you had such an easy time and were in and out in a flash! Sorry , Bonnie! :D

Just take it easy and just concentrate on recovering. Don't push yourself too soon. I'll pray you have an uneventful recovery!
