Meet me at the lake in 10 minutes!

I dunno, Ross, if only it weren't for that blasted wind chill.

At least with the 8 mile visibility, the rescue helicopter would be able to find you in the ice.

Not to rub it in (okay I enjoy rubbing it in), Dallas will be up to 52F today. :D

skinny dipping

skinny dipping

I think I will watch from my car. Illinois people are chickens.

Nope, I'm not gonna do it either!

Ross,
If we don't here from you in awhile, we will send out that helicopter to pull a block of ice out of the lake!!!!:D :D :D

Take Care!
Gail

Ross,

I'm on my way! Sounds like the making of a party to me!

Hmmm... a Skinny dipping contest... let's see who is the most daring, and award points for different styles.

15 points for water skiing on 1 ski.

25 points for waterskiing on 2 skis.

Get the digital cams ready!

I'll bring the chain saw!

I would bring the ice chipper but that's not really good for people on Coumadin.

FELLOW BUCKEYE CHECKING IN

FELLOW BUCKEYE CHECKING IN

Hi Ross,
As I was getting into my truck this morning I looked at the thermometer and it read -1. Now you and I have talked before about how much I love these Ohio winters. So DON"T EVEN GO THERE about skinny dippin' in Ohio. Let's just try to remember that Jan is almost over, Feb is a short month and the before we know March 21st arrives. Looking at it that way we are staring Springtime right in the face !!!!!

Hey now, if Rob can bring the chainsaw, you can bring the ice chipper. We Coumadin people are a lot tougher then most people think. ;) :D

Early this am getting one of my crews started on a small job...........I was in the vicinity while they were making a cut on a water line in a property planned for demolition.......owner stated all utilities were off...........need I say more.

Had you thinking it was me didn't I?

It just missed me !!!

Ben

Ben that's cruel and unusual punishment. It came totally unsuspected where as jumping in a frozen lake has known variables. :D

Count me in

Count me in

but I'm wearing a bikini:p :p :p :p We need a hot tub nearby..and lot of hot toddies:D :D :D :D Bonnie

Bonnie,

I like the way you think! Hot tub and Toddies.. hmmm... seems after a few of those Toddies.. wearing the bikini would become optional!

I can recall living in New England, and going to a friends house on a lake in the winter. He had a sauna right by the beach. All of us in the band would go there after a gig, sauna, cut a hole in the ice on the lake with a chain saw, run from the sauna, to the hole in the lake, hold onto a rope, jump in... then pull yourself out, and run back into the sauna. Whew...... Yup it was crazy... but such fun!

Rob
Looking for that fountain of youth!

I can beat that!

I can beat that!

Hi Ross,

I just read that we Minnesotans have a "winchill warning" out for tonight and Thurs. AM. "Bitterly cold winchills of -25 to-35 tonight through Thurs noon."

Right now, even without the windchill, we're at -6F. BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. I don't plan on doing any skinny dipping around here for a while... um, (or make that ever), with this bod!;)

I need to know, when you get into single digits, is that ".9" really neccesary?

I mean, is there that much of a difference between 3 degreees and 4 degrees that we need to know how many tenths of a degree closer the temperature is to 4 rather than 3?

Seems to me that when you get below 10 it's just damn friggin' cold.

Does a temperature of 10 really feel that much warmer than a temp of 5.7? Can you tell a difference, seriously?

It's not ZERO but it's pretty damn close and that's all that matters in horseshoes and hand grenades....

Maybe not in Ohio...

...but here in Cambria we woke up to a sunny day, with an air temp of 60 degrees F and a slight breeze in off of the ocean. Water temp is around 52 degrees, and there was a big swell running, so the surfers were out (in wetsuits, of course) but no one's worrying about frost bite or whether their car will start.

I could have skinny dipped today.COULD have. But didn't.

Well, here in Chicago this morning my outdoor thermometer read about 7 degrees. They're saying it may get cold tonight, though.

Really, with a bit of sunshine, 5 or 10 degrees doesn't feel that bad, unless you have the Chicago wind -- which is always in your face no matter which way you turn.

Oh, and it was in weather like this that my little Shih Tzu learned, ad Jim Croce said, "Don't whiz into the wind. . . "
