Betsy -

I'm also a 48 year old mother of two and I completely understand all the topsy turvy emotions & indecision. I hope you have a great holiday and before long you'll be looking back and being amazed at how strong you were through it all.

Wishing you a successful surgery and uneventful recovery!

Peace,
Ruth

Betsy!

My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time ~ Almost everyone I have talked to says that this is the hardest part of the process. the time prior to surgery. I also have an aortic aneurysm and bicuspid aortic valve, coincidentally I have sent my records to CC and requested Dr. Svensson as well. That was 3 weeks ago and I finally heard back from them. Looks like I will be flying back there soon for some additional testing and consult. I know he is the best and you will do great! Can't wait to hear about your experience. I will be right behind you, with surgery probably in January. When you are feeling better and "on the other side of the mountain" I will look forward to hearing about your experience with Dr. Svensson and the Cleveland Clinic!

Again, I am sending you and your family my prayers that God will comfort you and that you will have a totally successful procedure and recover in record time with absolutely no complications!

Good Luck Betsy!

Good Luck Betsy!

Betsy, good luck with your surgery and recovery. You will do great and have all of us praying for you, supporting you, and looking forward to hearing about your successful outcome.

I used to run a lot and I plan on resuming that activity as soon as the cardio says it's ok to do so. When he was discharging me he said "I'm so glad that you went ahead and had the surgery. You are going to feel so much better than you have in years, you'll be back to doing yard work without shortness of breath and the other symptoms you experienced." I was talking to my sister yesterday on the phone and walking around at the same time. She said that I sounded so much better, not out of breath as I was before. I can already tell the difference in my shortness of breath.:)

Happy Thanksgiving Betsy.

Thank you, everyone, for all the support and good thoughts. I had a quiet, wonderful Thanksgiving just with my family at home. I am feeling pretty calm (amazingly) and ready to leave here on Saturday.

I am blessed to have found this site and everyone on it. I will carry all your good thoughts with me and report back from the other side!

All the best, Betsy
