Location also influences perception, in heavenly places with summer all year you especially want to live longer
I live in Australia, but I've spent many years in Finland and Japan. I personally find that its the people around me that influences me more. Sure November in Finland sucked, but then it became like this:

even in summer (however brief) it was like this

life is what ->you<- make of it ... if you want it to be 5h1t then it will be. If you want it to be good then it can be.

I've personally had my ups and downs, but that's what makes a human what we are.

Some readings on valve choices

three years later I wrote this piece

I'm so glad my surgeon didn't pick what I'd picked.

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35676089/

Results: We included 462,619 participants (mean age at baseline 57.0 years [SD 8.1]). With a mean follow-up of 11.7 years (SD 1.7), 4,998 developed all-cause dementia. Social isolation was associated with a 1.26-fold increased risk of dementia (95% CI, 1.15-1.37) independently of various risk factors including loneliness and depression (i.e., full adjustment). However, the fully adjusted hazard ratio for dementia related to loneliness was 1.04 (95% CI, 0.94-1.16) and 75% of this relationship was attributable to depressive symptoms. Structural MRI data were obtained from 32,263 participants (mean age 63.5 years [SD 7.5]). Socially isolated individuals had lower GMVs in temporal, frontal, and other (e.g., hippocampal) regions.
Could you put your comment, in layman's terms, and in a shorter paragraph ?
Thanks

Hi

Could you put your comment, in layman's terms, and in a shorter paragraph ?
Firstly, its not a comment, its a quote from that reference (we call that a citation). For me to change that would be unethical unless I make a statement and then just make a reference to "evidence that supported that"

For instance (from wikipedia): As of 2023, Stellantis was the world's fourth-largest automaker by sales, behind Toyota, Volkswagen Group, and Hyundai Motor Group.[13]

when you hover on that [13] in wikipedia you get a popup showing where that statement about Stellantis was supported with evidence (meaning the author didn't just pull it out of the back of their shorts)

So, if you are asking me to explain the following:

Results: We included 462,619 participants (mean age at baseline 57.0 years [SD 8.1]). With a mean follow-up of 11.7 years (SD 1.7), 4,998 developed all-cause dementia. Structural MRI data were obtained from 32,263 participants (mean age 63.5 years [SD 7.5]). Socially isolated individuals had lower GMVs in temporal, frontal, and other (e.g., hippocampal) regions.

... then I would ask what part don't you understand and what would you like me to explain, because I'm not going to spend an hour typing up something and not actually hit what you wanted.

I would suggest that its also important for you to understand terms like "all-cause XXX" where XXX could be dementia, or mortality or ... and any words you don't understand you should google
