Glad you found this site before your surgery! How is your wife doing? Many of us found that the most important thing we packed to take with us to the hospital was a loving and tenacious companion and supporter; I hope your wife is up to being there by your side. Take your patience also.
I have read many excellent things about the valve you have chosen also. It certainly sounds like a good choice for you. Hopefully you will be able to avoid Coumadin; I would imagine that an American checking his INR in Europeon clinics would not be a simple "walk in the park." Speaking of walking in the park, I hope that you will reach that goal again within a week or two. Take care and the best of wishes for a successful outcome for you!
