Ross,
Will certainly pray for Becky.
One of my co-workers was diagnosed with Leukemia about a year ago. He missed about six months of work during his chemo, but is now in remission and back at work full-time. Cancer is a terrible disease, but they continue to make strides in treating it.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family,

MarkU

Prayers

Hi Ross,
As everyone has said, there is so much hope these days for leukemia patients. I hope that they will as least talk to the doctors and ask questions. She needs to believe that she is going to pull through. Talking with people will give her strength, as we all know here.

Lots of prayers and hope,
Fred

You be sure to let me know if the "Fred" thing bothers you. It was my stupidity that got it started and if it's harming you in any way, I'll knock it off and correct it. :)

Not at all

Not at all

Hey Ralph,
The Fred thing does not bother me at all! Hope you are feeling better?
Fred :)

Ross,
So sorry about your wife's cousin. I will include her in the prayers I say everyday which give thanks for you and this forum. You are truly a miracle in more ways than you know.

Ross,

Just thought I would post again and share an inspirational story about my Dad that will give you hope.

The day I was coming home from my OHS (Oct. '03), my Dad was headed to Denver to figure out what was making him sick for the couple of months prior. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma, Gillian Barre' and West Nile Virus all at the same time. It didn't look good at all. They started chemo right away for the Lymphoma, as you might know there is nothing to do about the West Nile...your body just has to fight it off, but many can't and die from it. Then there's the Gillian Barre', it attacks the central nervous system and paralyses you. He couldn't move anything but his fingers a little. He couldn't swallow, so had to be on a feeding tube....he lost more than 60 lbs (he wasn't big to begin with). He spent quite a bit of time in ICU. They figured that he would never walk again. :( Keep in mind that he was also on the chemo at this time, so it was taking it's toll on him too. After about 2 1/2 mths. still in the hospital, he started getting some of his feeling back. Started sitting up some (after they got him up and in a chair). He just started gaining slowly everyday. He was moved to a the rehab part of the hospital so they could concentrate more on the rehab. After 4 mths. in the hospital he was released to go home in a wheel chair. He's been home for just a little over 2 mths. now and he is WALKING once again (with his walking stick), the cancer is gone and the West Nile doesn't show up in his blood anymore!!! :D He went to visit the nurses and doctors last week in Denver, that hadn't seen him since he was realeased and they were just blown away! They kept looking at him saying, "you're a miracle"! Yes he is!! :p

I know that you've wittnessed miracles of your own, just thought I would share one of mine. They have some great treatments for Leukemia and Lymphoma now with a very good success rate. Keeping a positive attitude is the key!

P.S. I don't know if you've been following the threads in smalltalk about Macall...that's another amazing story!!! ;)

+ + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + +

I'm sending plenty of positive thoughts Becky's way. I hope her treatment is successful and that she can keep her spirits up.

All the best to her and the family,
Anna : )

You got it!

You got it!

She is in my prayers for the strength to get through treatment. Many positive thoughts are being sent her way.

I am so sorry for your wifes cousin. My prayers are with your family. A friend of mine was just here from the Tampa/Clearwater area and her brother is also suffering from leukemia. They tested her as a bone marrow donor but she's a 4-5 and he needs a 5-6 (to be honest I don't know what that means). They are now looking oversees for a donor. I hope all goes well with you and yours. Peggy

We've called and gotten no answer. We've written and not got a response, so I don't know what's going on at this point nor what type of Leukemia she has. Sorry folks. I'll let you know when I know, but thanks for the continued thoughts and prayers.
