There seems to be a few things recently that I have totally missed. Is there a forum out there I don't know about? For example:

tobagotwo's pre-surgery discussions
Mary quitting

I am assuming there are discussions going on that I am not privy to (not that I am in the popular group - kind of like high school) but obviously others are in the know. Cooker's post regarding surgery postings is written like everyone knew Mary quit.

Just color me confused.;) I feel like VR.com has been split in two.

Bummer.

I hope we can "keep it together" because I really love this community.

I'm not a person who likes to move around much, so I hope some of my "friends" haven't moved away. :(

I'm with you geebee I don't know what's going on in the least. I had no idea Mary quit. :(
Has anybody else left that I don't know about. I consider all of you family hate to lose anyone. :( All I know is its hard to stay in contact with no Chatroom , I can't pm all the time.

There isn't another forum that I know of, but some of us enjoy Facebook and communicate there in a different way. It's no replacement for vr.com, though.

I heard privately about Mary's departure from vr.com, but was surprised by the silence about it on the boards.

I hope this doesn't embarrass her (because I know she reads these as a guest) but, Mary, I wish you would return to vr.com. You are a dear and compassionate friend for so many here (me included). You started my surgery thread back in '05! I will never forget that. :):):)

I feel the same way Mary. I hope that you will return to us soon!

After hearing about T-Bone's death, everything else seems so trival & it makes you realize just how short & precious life is. And, how sad it is when someone you had just communicated with a week or two ago, dies!:(

So come back soon!

I'm not one of the "in-crowd" either, but maybe all us "outies" can gang up on the "innies", I am sure there must be more of us :D

I think tobagotwo may have referred to problems he was having, without dwelling on the details, but it was still a surprise to me.

As for Mary, I thought she was just taking a little break, as there were other life-things keeping her busy; I may of course be thinking of someone else entirely . ..

So, is there some way for us "outies" to get an invitation to the Facebook thing, and get promoted to an "innnie" ????

I was surprised when I wanted to look up Mary and look up her 'recipe' thread and could not find Mary at all!!! I was busy for sometime and did not check this Forum for a while and all this happened.

I agree with Gina as for the confusion of what is going on?!! and agree with what the others said and I would like to tell Mary that "the Forum without you is not the same!!!
We miss your touches, Mary, and hope to see you again and soon. I have been only a year here and I felt I knew you all my life through your honesty, your big love and compassion to all, and genuinety--everythiing you did, you did heartedly!".

As Norma said, life is short!! yes, indeed!!

MARY:eek:(QUIT)?
Where the heck is BLANCHE havent seen her on here in a long time.

There is no other forum this information has been passed around on ... Mary did not want to be public about her departure, she did not want to answer a bunch of questions or start a brouhaha ... She has been here a long time and been very active and so helpful to so many ... we all need a break from time to time ....

With so many new members and so many new threads and questions it is easy to miss things ... I know I get caught up checking the ThrowDown and my time is limited so I miss things ... we are all sidetracked from time to time and thread to thread ... I hate it when I miss wishing someone well before surgery or prayer request, but it happens ... I know I need to concentrate more on the new comer and help to answer their questions and if possible help calm their fears ... peace out:cool:

Sorry if I misunderstood, Cooker. You had initially used the term "quit" not "taking a break" which we have all done from time to time. That, coupled with the fact that all her posts are marked as "Guest" seemed to indicate something other than a temporary time out.

No mystery about my surgery...

There were no presurgery discussions for me to amount to much. I got my echo August 4th, dumped my cardiologist, turned over my assignments at work, got a new cardiologist, got files transferred, met with him, arranged work leaves, cath procedure, and surgery (without a solid date), contacted my surgeon, went to Maine for a week to chill out, and went to the hospital the following Monday, the day after my birthday. I wasn't completely sure the dates were accepted until the Thursday before, when I called from Maine.

There were a few, random posts about it in a Mosaic failures thread and a couple of others, and I mentioned it as "getting my birthday presents on Monday and Tuesday" in the Happy Birthday thread, but all-in-all, there just wasn't any time for it. You should be able to find the posts in "Advanced Search."

There may be some mystery to what transpired with Mary's sudden disappearance from VR.com (I do not know myself), but VR.com had nothing to do with the very limited warning that went out about my surgery. That's all on me. I just had no time and no emotional energy to do it, and no solid information until it was just about to happen.

Best wishes,

Only Mary knows how long she will be gone .... sorry for the confusion ... all changes were at her request ... let us all wish her well and hope she returns to us refreshed and renewed

There's taking a "break" and then there's "quitting". Mary is no longer on the members list - so that means she quit. That seems to have a more permanent feel to it. As Gina said - many of us have taken a break from time to time. Some tell us they are, some just walk into the shadows quietly. Quitting means the administrators need to be contacted about your request to discontinue your membership and they then act on it. I can't imagine doing that if you aren't wanting to sever ties.

What ever the issue - things have been strange around here for a while, and I hope it gets resolved. This is a great place.
