I'm new - the daughter of a patient

Heather since I don't know her case in particular, I'll say this. She wouldn't be discharged from the hospital if she were in significant risk. Novoa probably has her wrapped up good now. She just needs to not strain things too much.

I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for questions that she should ask, that would enable her (me as well) to better understand the extent of the dissection that remains, and risks, etc. (I'm hoping this question makes sense?)

There's your question for the Doc, namely,
"What is the condition of the remaining disection(s)?"
and "What are the RISKS and LIMITATIONS imposed by those disections"?
