This is the thing, she said I have to be less then 4.0 for surgery. If that is so, why am I stopping Coumadin? I told her that my everyday range is 2.5 to 3.5 and that I'm 3.5 right now, but she does not get it. Then she tells me to continue to take my coumadin and start the lovenox (OH HELL NO!) but stop the aspirin.
I just called my PCP back and asked what the hell I'm doing because that Doctor hasn't got a clue how Coumadin works nor anticoagulation in general and they flipped out because they've been waiting over an hour for a fax from them to get this processed. I got put in the middle of their phone tag game and I ain't playing it. I called that ding bat doctors pager, she called back and I laid it all out to her and then called the PCP and told them that if they didn't get the fax in the next 20 minutes to call her pager. Screw this, I have better things to do then wait for these morons.
To top it all off, I faxed that article on Dental surgery and Coumadin to their office saturday. Apparently no one read it. Bottom line is, there is no reason for me to be off Coumadin for this. None. I don't have the luxury of searching out another doctor to do this either.
