Hello, VR Friends,
I just have to toot my own horn. I just completed work on my Masters Degree tonight. I submitted my 26 page research project to my teacher and am waiting to see if I get published. It's been a seven year journey (with a little setback at the onset -- valve surgery), and I'm finally done. Now I won't know what to do with all my spare time. I'm sure I'll find something!

Hey! I start teaching a photography class this month, it's Saturday mornings and you can pay a "nominal" lab fee to use a camera provided by the university.... Something fun for once? =)

CONGRATS!

Sherry,
Congratulations! I know how much hard work that is. I am always proud to see teachers continuing their educations. You're not going to turn into an administrator, now, are you? ;)

Congratulations!

Now for your next project, should you choose to accept it, is to write a thesis on "Is Ross Really Mentally Stable". That should keep you busy for the rest of your natural life. :D

Way to go Sherry!! You're right to toot your own horn! :D

Meanwhile, when I saw the thread title, followed by Ross's name in the forum thread list, I though he must have finally had some success with his "problem". No such luck hey?

Cheers
Anna : )

Sherry,
Congratulations, gal! That's quite an accomplishment under your belt. I notice you live in southern Indiana. I'm a born and bred Hoosier (Indianapolis) and I got my undergraduate degree from IU. Can't say I miss those midwestern winters, but southern Indiana is mighty pretty country. I lived right across the river in Louisville for a time also-a good transition city to prepare me for the culture shock of moving to Georgia.

Thanks for all the kind words, valve friends. I woke up this morning feeling twenty pounds lighter. Such a great feeling... By the way, Beavis (er, Ross), I think I'll take you up on that. My original undergrad degree was in Psychology :D :D . Have a great day, all. :)

Way to go, Sherry! Congratulations! Now you'll have more time to surf the web for fun

congratulations

congratulations

Congratulations, Sherry!
I know what a relief it must be, and how proud you are of finishing. I'm halfway through my program, and need to take two classes this summer to stay on track. I hope I can keep the AV problem at bay until after I finish them.
Good Going!
Mary

yeah!!

yeah!!

Hey congrats Sherry!!

I know how relieved it is to be done.. some day I might get that far if I ever decide what career I really want to stay in that is!!

Hey, Sue,
When were you at I.U.? I graduated in 1986; in fact, I was at the basketball game when Bob threw the chair. What a claim to fame, huh?? My hubby and I lived in Indy for several years. (Had my surgery there at Methodist Hospital) We now live near Evansville. Glad to hear from a former Hoosier. Thanks to all of you for the kind words :) :)

All this and brains, too! (Good thing I ducked after that one.)

Sincere congratulations on your achievement. A masters degree earned while working means a great deal of sacrifice, self discipline, and uncommon focus. Bask in it for a while.

Then take some of your life back. St. Kitts sounds good...

Best wishes,

Sherry,
I'm just a tad bit older than you, well, okay a good bit -I graduated from IU in 1971 and my husband got his PhD there. There are 12 of us from highschool (Southport, if you know it) who still get together for a week each year at a different location, the mountains, the beach, etc. We're mostly spread out all over the country but about 4 of the gals still live in Indy and from what I'm told, it's a far cry from what I remember.

Congratulations Sherry! It is certainly a great accomplishment. I went back for my MA when I was younger and company sponsored :) The stress of a full-time corporate job and classes at night plus every other Saturday seemed overwhelming at the time. I can't imagine pulling it off while undergoing valve replacement surgery and recovery. I was single at the time and felt bad for the married students in my class who had career, school AND family.

That fact that you had the drive to complete the program while managing your health issues is a true representation of your character. I hope all your professional goals and ambitions are achieved.

Now, what are you going to do with all that free time? ;)

I posted here early this morning, but it didn't go through so will try again, Sherry.

I am SO proud of you. I have two children who have (and are) struggled through over the years and it is hard when you have other obligations. Congratulations - you deserve a medal.
