Laurie,

Sounds like you're hanging right in there with maintenance. Superbob wishes he was only a pound or two off his ideal weight.

That parade of the canine veterans sounds poignant. Being an old dog himself, Superbob has empathy. Seriously, it sounds sweet. Hope all goes well.

Okay, I just tried to click on the "Reply to Thread" button and only this 'Quick Reply' Box came up.
Not sure how this is going to post - BUT what is this IE story/stuff you guys talk about?

P.S.
I click on "Reply to Post" twice. First time didn't do anything, clicked it again and it posted.

Fred, keep using the quick reply box for now. Some of us are having trouble with the Reply to Thread option and being booted off to an error msg page.

Great job, Laurie and Superbob.:D

I'm boycotting the throwdown until I lose. :(
It's either that, or send my scales to Cooker, and tell him where to put them . . . for safe keeping, of course.
Maybe tomorrow morning, I'll be able to post a loss.

Laurie - I think you are doing great! It is much harder to keep it off than it is to lose it - that is a fact! Just think where you'd be if you didn't keep trying. I know what you mean about having to get out and socialize sometimes. Happy Anniversary - early!

I kind of feel like Duffey today - ready to throw in the scales. I am having such a hard time trying to talk my evil twin out of going and making a big bowl of buttered popcorn and drowning my frustrations. Like that will solve anything. SB needs to fly on over and tie me to a chair or use his laser vision to fuze my jaw shut or something. (Glad to see your super avatar back again.) What is wrong with me today? I feel like throwing things ! I think the root of my issue is a 4 letter word. W-O-R-K. At least I have a job and there are thousands of people out there that would be very happy with that.

Anyway, reporting in cranky today , but I'm here and there is 1.6 lbs more of me than last week. I thought I would do so much better on the St. Paddy's day challenge than I have.

Starting weight: 224
Last Week: 194
This week 195.6
Loss: zilch zero nada. Gain: 1.6
Total loss: 28.4

Talk to you later Losers....

It worked.
It didn't work that much, but I can at least report a loss.;)
Last week, 157.5
This week, 156.5
Loss of a pound

Looked back at the first weight of the New Year . . . . 157 . . . . I can only report a loss of .5 for our St. Paddy's Day challenge:( . . . hope I have a better week coming up!:)

Duffey, a pound is a good loss in my opinion. Good job! Also, good job Superbob and Laurie.

We are changing our weigh-in day to Thursdays. So, we are waiting until next Thursday to weigh-in at WW. By the looks of the scale, that is a good thing!

Yeah Mary! I have a better outlook today too. By this morning's weigh in, I was down to 194 - so technically for the week I really only gained .2 lbs :D I didn't eat the bowl of buttered popcorn last night. I was able to silence my evil twin.:p Now I just have to keep her at bay through the weekend. That is when I tend to lose my way. I'm making my meal plan now for the weekend. That'll help me stick to it without that 'What am I going to eat' syndrome and then I make bad choices. We have a week and a few days to St. Patty's - so I'm going to do my best to increase my contribution. That's my plan anyway.

Good job, Rhena!
I think the throwdown really does help when it comes to having a do or die mentality. Without the thowdown, I'd just say, "forget it." Like you wrote, I also think I've got a chance to redeem myself before the 17th, so I'm working on it. I'm headed to the pool in just a little bit.

Wonder where Art is?

We might have to send the hounds out to drag him back . . . .

Wherever you are Art, come back and join in. It doesn't matter if you're the same, up or down. Drop in and say hi!

Great book!

Great book!

Way to go, Rhena and Duffmeister!

Superbob has a book about healthy eating he wants to recommend. "The G.I. Diet Clinic," by Rick Gallop. This is the most sensible and readable book about healthy eating/losing weight Superbob has ever read (and he must have read hundreds over the years). His good doc recommended it to him just last week. Has a great system of green-light foods (those you can have freely for your 3 meals and 3 snacks a day), yellow-light foods (ones you can work back in, in moderation, after your targeted weight loss), and red-light foods (no-no's!).... (G.I. of course stand for Glycemic Index.)

Superbob is on way to grocery store now to stock up on green-light foods....

At last a book that even one with laser vision can easily comprehend! :p Has lots of menus and grocery lists; ideas for snacks, etc.

BTW, just noticed that the author emigrated to Canada. Has a website: www.gidiet.com

So is The Chimp going to have a special weigh-in on Wednesday, March 17 -- Saint Patrick's Day!?

Will we tote up the pounds, and declare a winner, or will we declare us all winners and go out and drink green beer? ;)

Where IS that lady Ref when we need her here to issue proclamations such as these? :D

No green beer!
I drank too much of it while attending a good Catholic university in southern Minnesota. It always seems like a good idea at the time, but it never is.
I vote for a special Wednesday weigh-in . . . :)

My apologies for not having been here!

My apologies for not having been here!

Hello everyone,

I am happy for all the *losers* and those who stayed *stable*, and good luck to all the others!

My scale was not generous to me last Thursday ... it took half a lb from Cooker and threw it on me, and it warned me not to take it for granted...it will be good to me if I continue to work harder!;)

Starting weight: 180 lbs
Last weigh in: 175.5 lbs
Result: Gain of half a lb

Never mind! will beat it this week.

A half-pound + no gain, Eva. You are doing fine.

Superbob is having terrible problems with his wireless internet. Seeking a computer geek to help him out. If he's not on for a while, that will be why. (And you thought superheroes had powers over such things.
