We had a mixed week, as it turns out.

CINDY:

Starting Weight: 140.8
Last Week: 136.4
This Week: 138.8
Total Loss: 2

Cindy's gain can probably be credited to women's monthly gift, mostly.

WISE:

Starting Weight: 194.2
Last Week: 187.2
This Week: 186.8
Total Loss: 7.4

I ain't bragging about the slightest loss this week. ;)

Since I'm on maintenance, I'm not sure I should join the St. Patty's challenge. I'm up 2, down, 1, rinse, lather, repeat. But I'll cheer from the sidelines. And I've lost another .6 the last two days. Nerves are good for something!:D

Jet had a problem yesterday with a disturbance outside the ring, which got her excused for barking during stays. (dang it) But she redeemed herself today with a good solid score of 190 - that's an A-. Since I'd have been happy with a passing 170 C- score, I'm thrilled.

We go again tomorrow, and even if we pass, I'll have to schedule one more obedience weekend to finish her Companion Dog title. Considering how independent this dog can be, and that I spent her entire adolescence trying to stay alive/recover from OHS, we're happy just to be in the ring.

Laurie - sounds to me like you and Jet have every reason to be thrilled. Way to go!

To our resident Superhero - just hang in there best you can until the end of the year and you will get that 6 lbs and more off during the St. Pat's Lose a thon and set a whole new goal for 2010. Lose a thong! :) Conjurs up a whole different image.

Wise, good for you and tell Cindy to hang in there. She'll erase that gain this week and then some. Just don't let it get her down. It really isn't fair how relatively easy it seems for men to drop the pounds compared to women, but then it is what it is. Just when you get rid of one curse - you hit another one - menopause and an even slower metabolism.

I need to change from TheChimp to TheHog .... holiday treats are taking control:eek:

LOL! Maybe I need to don the hog costume too. Last night we went to our Sunday School Christmas party. What possessed me to make delicious fattening bon bons is beyond me, but I did.

Game on Chimp sorry for the delay in posting but I had a hectic weekend socially.
Starting weight 190.3
Last Week 190.3
This week 188.8
Total Loss 1.5

Nice try ... my oven and brain only operate in Fahrenheit:p ... good job on your loss!

Cooker, I think 150C would be around 325 F.

100C is the boiling point of water - 212F, so half again is about 318F - even though that's not the really official way to convert.

Is that a pudding, or a fruit cake?

Too complicated a recipe for Superbob -- he will just stick with scones (or rather scones will stick to him). :p Sounds yummy, though, Art, if you want to want to ship some of that Irish confection to Throwdowners. :)

Our new challenge reminds of those detective TV shows, but in this case it's CLI - NYSP or Continually Losing It - New Years Saint Patty's.

Okay, I'm taking off my silly hat and joining the New Years to Saint Patrick's Day Challenge. That's a good idea to have an extra incentive.

Congrats to you Laurie, Betty and Rhena! Congrats to you too Mary; staying the same weight for three weeks and not expecting it is a win.

Hey Chimp challenger, where Art thou? Better stay out of the Irish stew! Je ne parle pas Irish tres bien or I would have warned of a greater food risk. What is the Irishman's achilles heel, food wise?
My achilles heel is food

Good idea there SB! I will put some real Canadian maple syrup on top of mine, since I happen to have some. Maybe I'll add a little of the whiskey too; it is a dessert after all.

Its a fruit cake

Superbob and Cooker are Wusses!:p:p
One can't calculate and the other says it's too complicated!:eek:
I can do both;) and if I only knew what sultans were, I'd be ready to bake.:D

Wussy, huh? :p Well Duffey is a dummy.:p It's a sultana, not a sultan, and a sultana is a white, seedless grape of Turkish, Greek, or Iranian origin. I hear they make a great scone ingredient. ;)

Where is that sharp lady "Ref" we used to have to keep everything straight around here.:D

Hi Duffey
try Trader Joes for sultanas

Yes, a Sultana is a wimpy type of raisin perfect for baking and soaking up booze with.
This thread is leaning towards the "Fruit Cake" challenge of a few months ago with ChoudouFu....that was hysterical,,where is he anyway??
