So close but so far away

I was 10 minutes from being rolled into the surgery, when the surgeon
told me they had no place for me after surgery.
I am now home waiting for a telephone that will hopefully give me a new surgery date very soon.
This is exactly the nightmare I hoped I would not have to endure.
I was so ready, and now I have to go through all the waiting all over again.

I feel really depressed, and feel like just wanting to scream.
This is also very hard on my family and friends.
They don`t like the waiting any more than I do.

I think the whole thing got "messed" up at the hospital due to a heart transplant. I will take the extra waiting for that patient gladly though.
He/she has been living with waiting probably for quite some time.

Oslo - I was just thinking of you before and wondering how things had gone. So sorry that your surgery was postponed - I cannot imagine how hard it would be to be all ready and waiting and then to have it cancelled

So sorry you got bumped. That's very frustrating. In the grand scheme of life, a few days waiting for this surgery will hardly be remembered when you are feeling well and doing all the things you love.

Sorry to hear about your postponement. I know how that feels as I got postponed due to an emergency patient too, although I got more than 10 minutes notice

That's a real bummer!!!
