sonup, I am reading these posts and understanding that many don't even recall the tube! I usually pop right awake (or think I do, anyway, feels like it) like at night when they come in to do vitals or take blood, boink! I'm awake, talking instantly. So my being aware of that tube might be a big flukey thing. But honestly, the minute I let the nurses' voices soothe me and obeyed what they said (like going into an MRI and keeping eyes CLOSED every nanosecond! lol), it's cool.

You just tick the minutes off. Prep yourself before-hand, like a game plan, that you'll just take it a few minutes at a time and don't even think an hour ahead, like, "Well what about when they try this or that?" Just wait until each milestone arrives.

YOU CAN DO IT! and it's a learning experience allllll the way!! :)

Thanks all for such a great reponse & sharing your experience make me feel good .
I am gaining more confidence and the nervousness has bit reduced.

I was not mentally ready for the operation as i have no symptoms though have a leaky aortic valve.but now i have decided to have it done.
I will have my AVR on 19th Feb. hoping all will be fine.

I added you to the calendar so it's "official" and I know you will be just fine.
