Thanks so much Al for sharing your post surgery experiences with me. It helps to know that others didn't feel so great at six weeks. I am under the impression that I should be feeling better than I do - comparing myself with others' recoveries. :(

I am feeling pretty lousy today because of a lack of sleep last night, my heart is racing (but not a-fib - a regular fast rate), still the lightheadedness and NOT short of breath yet today - or during the night. I sat in bed at 2 a.m. and read a book, and took a Benadryl to help me get back to sleep but to no avail. I slept very fitfully.

Thanks for the "never give up" encouargement. It really does help to read these posts from everyone - just reading one sentence like this makes me feel a bit better. :)

Chris maybe this will help, Look at when you were released from the hospital. Now look at the date today and the date this coming Friday. If I counted right, that makes 50 days since your surgery. I was just being released from ICU on day 50 and had 10 more days of rehab to do. I think that helps put things in perspective a little bit. ;)

I guess I'm saying it's possible to feel bad for a very long time afterwards. On the flip side, look at what all you've accomplished since leaving the hospital. It doesn't seem like much until you realize just how long it really has been.
