    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-31-09

The twins have not allowed me to weigh myself yet today (unless I want to report a 10-20 lb. gain). But the haven't allowed me to eat yet, either, so I guess there's still time. One of these days I WILL figure out how to get both to nap at the same time and NOT on me. ;) Oh, they...

    Mystery of my heart

I got a call from my cardio's office today. She has sent the results of the holter to my EP and wants to consult with him before talking with me, but did want to let me know that there were, indeed, "extra" beats. Guess it will be a few more days until I find out what that will mean.

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-31-09

HIGHLY doubtful! If family history is any indication, I need the motivation of this throwdown more than ever. My mom got bigger after kids, not smaller. After all, the only way I was able to get an uninterrupted meal the other day was to eat in my car at Sonic.

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-31-09

I went for a walk with the twins Friday morning. It was mostly to get them quiet. But it gave me some exercise too. I need to make it a habit. Two Fridays ago I was down 1 lb and so excited to be able to post a loss. Then we crashed... :( No comment. I'll wait for this Friday.

    Mystery of my heart

Thanks. I'll check into that. Being that my babies are only 7 weeks old, they aren't biologically ready to sleep through the night yet. I can accept this. I just wish that Lucas would go back to sleep quicker. Perhaps the book will offer a solution for that. I've had a sample sent to my...

    Mystery of my heart

I'm actually getting pretty good at the night stuff (so are they). It's not a strict schedule, per se, but things tend to happen around the same time each night. I feed them and put them to bed around 9, I get to bed around 9:30-10:00 (depends on how much I didn't get done during the day), one...

    Mystery of my heart

The rhythm issues might be due to sleep deprivation, but my original reason for going in (less energy, more swelling) started way before the twins were here. I'd love to get more sleep, but these two make that difficult. Nathan helps when he can, of course, but nights before he works I take...

    Mystery of my heart

Oh, I guarantee you that Nathan's mom would be more than happy to take the twins for as long as we let her. But that ain't happening. ;) Besides, she wouldn't have any backup. I know first hand that taking care of them alone is HARD. No matter how much you love them. It's not that I need...

    Mystery of my heart

We have family nearby, but there's no way I would feel comfortable leaving the twins with them for that long at this age (heck, I have a hard time leaving for an hour!). They get up several times a night and I would never ask anyone to do that. Besides, most of the ones that would/could take...

    College Meal Plan Survey

Yes, there were meals available on campus, through the meal plan, 7 days a week. Some dorm cafeterias were closed on weekends, but 2 dorms were open 7 days.

    Mystery of my heart

Why is it that we're always playing detective, trying to piece together the clues that might solve the mystery of why I feel like crud? Allow me to back up a bit. Those of you that have followed me over the years know that in 2007 I had a bi-v ICD put in. The year to follow was GREAT! Then...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-10-09

Oh! And I forgot to mention our dinner plans for tonight! Since cooking is a tiny bit difficult when juggling two little ones (and Nathan doesn't get home until 8 o'clock or so), we decided to go with slow cooker meals this weekend. Tonight's meal is already going and it's going to be such a...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-10-09

Thank you for that. 'Cause I still haven't managed to get on the scale. These babies really keep you on your toes! I've been up and busy since 5:30! They say to sleep when the babies sleep, but how do you do that when they tag-team?! And I must say my arms are getting quite the...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-10-09

I'm afraid to get on the scale tomorrow. :( I don't think it will have budged. At least, not in the direction I want. But I'm not going to be too bummed about it. It's hard to exercise with 1 month old twins in the house (or pretty much anything else for that matter), and I've tried to eat...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-3-09

Does getting up and down with a fussy kid from 1 AM to 4:30 AM count as exercise?

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-3-09

I actually remembered to check this morning (just didn't have time to get online). I'm 142. Exactly where I was when the throwdown started 2 years ago. :p This weekend probably wasn't the best as far as food choices (Friends in from out of town = cook out and restaurant food all weekend), but...

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-3-09

Oops. Rough night with the twins last night. I forgot to weigh before I ate. :o I'll try again tomorrow. But! I did eat sensibly last night, this morning, and at lunch. No exercise, though. I'm doing good to hold my head up.

    Cooker's Throwdown Friday II...7-3-09

Sorry to have been MIA for so long. New babies make it difficult to get online much. But even before they arrived I just wasn't focused on my heart or weight loss, so my visits were getting fewer and farther between. However, I've noticed that my scale has made its way back up to where it was...
