Well the weight is down a pound or so - but then there's been a few stressful things in our house lately, so I know that is the culprit and I shouldn't count it as a legitimate loss. I'd probably be down 5 pounds if I hadn't eaten about 15 oreo cookies with milk in the last few days!

As of this morning, I am 5.2 pounds from my goal. I have 5 more months to achieve it. I will report in occasionally on how it's going.
So glad to see you here. I was afraid you went on a Krispie Kreme tear throughout the eastern seaboard, turning the Tea Parties into Donut Parties.

Just got back from a walk

Just got back from a walk

I just got back from a walk outside to find you all discussing that most depressing of subjects. It is rare for a summer afternoon in late July to be really pleasant here in Oklahoma but at 81º it's nice today. I'm trying to shed another 20 lbs before the time for AVR arrives later this year. It seems that if I don't walk during the day I don't walk because I'm only ready to lie down when I get home in the evening. By the way, did any of you have a problem with caffeine during the limbo period before surgery? It seems that if I have even one cup I'm dizzy for the whole day. Decaf isn't all that satisfying but I guess it will have to do.

Mentu, I didn't have any problem with caffeine/coffee either before or after surgery. But we're all different. Might affect one person differently than another. If you are having dizziness, I recommend letting your cardiologist know right away. Best wishes, and good luck with the weight loss goal.

Under the House version of the health "care" bill, people in my age demographic (old) would be required -- required! -- to have end-of-life counseling with a government overlord every 5 years, or more often if one had any kind of chronic condition that might shorten life. (Starts on page 425 of this monstrosity; I've read it.)

Now, given that bleak prospect -- living in a country that used to be about "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" but now will value some people dead more than alive -- why should it make any difference what I eat or what I weigh? In fact, I would be doing a service to Obama-Kevorkian Care if I gorged myself with doughnuts every day, smoked three packs of cigs, and drove at high speeds while unbuckled. Could very well shorten life and thereby help with cost-cutting. So given what's coming, the Throwdown seems increasingly irrelevant for someone in my advanced demographic group.

But don't you want to get some glances from the bikini brigade when you walk Superdawg?? :) Well, and of course there's that little issue of your family wanting you healthy and here for a long time. ;)

Here’s my report ... I know it is confusing because it confuses me:rolleyes: ... my last “reported” weigh in was two weeks ago and I was at 193 ... Some how between then and 7-18-09 I was up to 198 and said it’s time to get back on track with counting my WW points ... I have managed to get that off and one additional pound, so from the last report I am posting a net loss of that one pound:) ... I guess I ate my way through the first week of the “Great VR Crash Of 2009” ...

As said, I am pleased to see the activity we have had and hope with all the new VR members that more will join us in the fun and benefits of getting to and maintaining a heart healthy weight ...

On that note, please remember that the ThrowDown is mainly for weight loss support ... There are many things going on in our country and around the world some of which can be depressing or that may anger us ... Please, lets stick to the main purpose of this thread, leaving out religious or political debates and discussions, there are plenty of other places for those type of things .... Thanks.

Starting weight..........233
Last Weigh in ............193
This week.....................192
Total Loss ....................41

I am confessing that since my last report I have gained 3.8 pounds. I am NOT confused as to why.

Cindy says that she could not bring herself to weigh today. Two days ago we went to Chick-fil-A and she had a nice soup and salad. Then she had a small peach milkshake, which was yummy, and one of the best brownies she ever put in her mouth. Whoa! She will report next Friday.

Not to worry, Cindy, Chimpman says Chick-fil-A sells nothing fattening.
I'm glad to see you're here, Wise, and it will be good to see Cindy back too.:)

The twins have not allowed me to weigh myself yet today (unless I want to report a 10-20 lb. gain). But the haven't allowed me to eat yet, either, so I guess there's still time. One of these days I WILL figure out how to get both to nap at the same time and NOT on me. ;)

Oh, they did nap for about 30 minutes in their stroller while I walked this morning. So I guess they figure that counts. :p

I forgot to report once I finally got on the scale Friday... The pointer was hovering between 141 and 142. So I'm going to call it a .5 lb loss since last reported (never mind that it's a .5 lb gain from when I last weighed, but we couldn't report).

Starting weight: 142
Friday: 141.5
Change: -.5

TheChimp has been knuckling down this week so it better payoff ... if not I see a weekend of banana pudding and pizza ... Still looking for a few MIA’s ... come out come out wherever you are
