Ya did it again, Cort. I'm tired just reading all the plans. . .

A couple of them bring back memories. Of course we do the new car Auto Show each year -- that's how I find a fun way to give a few bucks to Children's Memorial Foundation, on the First Look For Charity night. World of Wheels I've mentioned as my old show (1968-1977). We built the first "World of Wheels" stage backdrop sign in our car club garage. (We were then known as The Chi-Town Shifters.) I also used to go to Detroit to work at the AutoRama at Cobo Hall, as it (the show) was owned by the same company that owned World of Wheels. Then a few years ago, my daughter and I drove up to Detroit for The Dream Cruise. So many cars, so little time. . .

Seriously, Cort, have a great year -- wish I had the time to do it all again!

LOL, Steve! The intent is not to make people _tired_, but perhaps to get 'em interested in meeting up somewhere :). LOL!

So, are ya interested in attending World of Wheels next weekend? Or do ya have too much goin' on?

Anyone else interested in meeting up along the way at one (or more) of those events I mentioned? It's always cool to meet members :).

WOW? Yup, I think it is time to go back and visit my roots, though they may be a bit grey. . .

Have you decided which day or evening yet? How about logistics? I don't really look forward to parking any of my wheels down there, so a meet-up somewhere where I can safely leave my car would be really cool. If an evening looks good, wanna meet for dinner first?

Sweet!

No, I haven't decided when, yet.

As for parking the car, I've found parking at Schaumburg and taking the bus from the Northwest Transportation Center is best...if they are running a bus from there for WOW. Otherwise, I've no clue. I believe some friends of mine are going...and I may actually catch a ride in with them, but I don't know exact plans yet...which is frustrating for me in trying to meet up with people along the way :). LOL!

Dinner does sound like a good idea to me :).

Let's keep in touch...and see what happens.

Anyone else interested? :)

Take the train! Cab it to McCormick. Works well!

Have a great time. Maybe we will cross paths at the "new car" Auto Show!. Soon as I figure out when. lol.

Ahhhhhhh I can just smell that new car smell!
Honestly, I am not a buff........but I LOVE new cars. Usually last about 2-3 years and I trade. Not so great on the pocket book. But heck, you only live once.:D

Have fun!

Yup, it sure is all up in the air. . .

Cort - the Schaumburg thing would be wierd for me -- I live about 20 miles closer to downtown, right along I-90 (Kennedy X-way at Harlem Ave.), so going out there would be about 30-40 miles out of my way, round trip. OTOH, I could possibly "borrow" a parking pass (free) for the multi-level garage across the street from the Palmer House at Wabash and Monroe, then cab it from there. Just not sure how cabbing it will work going back to the loop later on.

Gina - the best way to see the new car Auto Show is on "First Look For Charity" night, the Thursday evening before the show opens to the public. My brother in law and I have been doing this one for 15-20 years. the tickets get a bit pricey at $150 each, but I direct that my donation go to Childrens' Memorial Foundation, so it is a good thing. Much smaller crowd that night, along with the cocktail receptions. . .

Steve,

Yeah...I thought about that "travel mile" irony after I posted that. Sorry...my bad. Let's keep thinking about it...Gina might be onto something, too. Still have some time to make plans, so no worries :).

Gina,

Be sure to let us know when you're going. I'm still not sure whether or not I'm going this year....not too much to get excited about this time 'round :(.
