What a handsome young lad he is!! I love the way all the dogs are looking intently at the camera. The black one looks just like my Buckley-boy! I wish Cindy a long, happy relationship with her new boy.

I meant tell you that your Buckley-boy is beautiful. Saw him in another thread, but lost track of it. Also, this black beauty is also named Buckley.

Mary, thanks! Perry is the golden retriever (Cindy is in red). Goldens aren't Labs are they? Not an expert here. Hope you're dug out of the snow!

Wise

You're right; Perry is a golden retriever not a lab.:)

Ross had my mind a twitter which caused my sudden lack of clarity.   ;) ;) ;)

All the dogs are beautiful..and so are the Ladies.:) Cindy looks so good with her red sweater on..all decked out for Xmas.:D ..I wonder?..what is the average age for these dogs?..Bonnie

 Well, I was wrong, the black lab's name is Berkley, not Buckley. Sorry. I do have a typical male memory...short and fuzzy.

Perry is 19 months old. Cindy told me that they are generally 18 to 22 months old, give or take. They are trained for their first year in basic obedience (maybe a little more advanced?) by their puppy trainer, with whom they live. The for the next few months they are trained at the school before. Then they're matched with their owners and go through the training happening now.

I know you were addressing Mary, who is sometimes VERY DENSE. But how are the rest of us supposed to take that description of the picture??????? HUH????????:D :D :D

Sorry, couldn't resist. Hope your family is back together soon. You will have to teach Perry to help spot vehicles for your next trip THRU ATLANTA!!!!

May God Bless,

Danny

Does that mean that you weren't sure which was the dog, Perry or Cindy?!?  :p :D . Well...I guess maybe my writing skills need a little brushing up, huh?

I may be going to Atlanta to retrieve Cindy and her retriever. She has one layover and it's there. Jessica, Cindy's daughter, wants her to stay a couple days with them...not sure what's going to happen yet.

I used one of those political ploys and "took it out of context".:D :D :D

I got a kick out of Perry's "expression" (yes, animals do have them) in the picture--"Oh no, another picture. Don't these HUMANS ever quit":D . The one in front of the lady in yellow and the black Lab?? next to it are saying "Throw the Ball, Throw the Ball, Already!!!!":D :D :D

Sounds like the Atlanta trip will be a nice Christmas get-together. Have a safe trip.

May God Bless,

Danny

I agree with your assessment. Perry is all business. The labs are all goofy and ,like you say, ready to play ball.

We won't be doing the Christmas get-together after all. Cindy's plans can't be changed to accomodate that. She thought she'd be able to cancel the last leg of your flight home and then ride home with me. But, we'd have to pay over $200 for that change. Guide Dogs for the Blind has already paid for everything including the airfare. So, we think that's fair. They've been so good to Cindy and her classmates...I mean tonight she said they fed her the best prime rib she's ever had.

To Mary: I really do like you friend. I hope I didn't come across as anal retentive (or whatever that is) in clarifying labs and goldens. I am a nerd after all...always was...always will be. :)

How is it going for Cindy and Perry?

That training at the guide dog school is HARD work. There is so much for the student to learn. Cindy will develop a wonderful bond with Perry.

I am sitting here with tears. We are puppyraisers for Guide Dogs of America in Sylmar,CA.

Are you going to graduation. It is an emotional time -- take your tissue.

I hope Cindy keeps in touch with Perry's puppyraiser as it will mean so much to the puppyraiser. It doesn't have to be frequent communication, but a few words/photos a few times a year will be appreciated.

CONGRATULATIONS Cindy!

Thanks so much Mindy. Cindy will appreciate your comments and suggestions very much. It is going very well for Cindy & Perry. She had hoped to leave early, but won't be the case. She graduates Saturday the 17th and comes home on the 18th. I can't attend the graduation, but I'm sure Cindy will need the tissue. She's already beginning to miss her new friends before she leaves, if that makes sense. I believe that Cindy will be very happy to stay in contact with her puppy raiser.

Also, Mindy, as the husband of a guide dog owner, I want to personally thank you for the service you provide to the many people touched by the life of each puppy you trained, nurtured, and loved. You are one my heroes.

It is truly our pleasure and privilege to be puppyraisers. Our greatest joy is to see one of our puppies graduate with their partner.

Oh.  Well...no, haven't been to see that movie. Don't plan to. I didn't mean "that kind" of entertainment. I mean you're helping with your humor. Now see how an innocent statement becomes such a "flaming" controversy! You'll just have to get us out of this one buddy.

When you looked over your shoulder did you see me running? Away, that is.

Wise,

I guess we can't even BLOW out the flames!!!!   :D :D :D

Push the THREAD HIGHJACK BUTTON quick!!!!!!!!

Not a MUST SEE movie on my list either.

Humor (maybe sometimes a little weird----) I can help with. The rest, YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!!!!!!:D :D :D

I'm rushing to the rescue with this Highjack the thread post!:p :p :p

Wise,
You have to be careful what you write concerning Danny.
Don't you remember when he posted this picture on the reunion thread?
Need I say more?
