I got my flu shot about 15 minutes ago! Who's next?
I don't always get it, but it was free through work.

they always make me feel like crap, but the flu feels a hell of a lot worse, for sure.
I have to pass. I'm allergic to eggs. I don't think I've ever had the flu. Bad colds, sinus infections and the occasional intestinal thing..I drove a school bus for 10 years if that didn't give it to me nothing will.
In its more severe form, it can be a really horrible auto-immune attack where the mylin sheath (probably misspelled) around the spinal chord is destroyed. My really wonderful and previously vigorously-healthy father-in-law had the worst suvived case at that time and was on a vent for five weeks and suffered sudden onset; he was in his early 40's. (He Had Not Recently Received a Flu Shot.) He became completely paralyzed within hours and suffered nearly total atrophy during those five weeks and has never fully recovered from it. There was a higher percentage of it seen during the Swine Flu and also the Swine Flu immunizations. It follows a virus but is evidently not contagious and a person most probably doesn't get it twice. I've also heard/read that many more people may have developed it at much milder levels but may have never been diagnosed; it may have manifested itself as a weakness following something like the flu. Recently another of our friends, who is probably close to 60, developed it and was on a vent for at least three weeks and she told me that she has heard/read that there have been incidents of it connected to the new HPV immunizations also. I'm no authority, however, and there may be more current stats and info on the syndrome. The form I signed today did mention G-B syndrome, but I'm not sure it said anything about a relative having it. I really didn't read it though, since I don't ever know what it is!
