And, of course ... many friends and family!!!

Despite Gramps' death a few weeks ago, I DID lead the regular Sunday service for Pinecrest (where he and Gram had lived since 2001...Gram died 2002). It was a special service, whereby the pianist (a former Elgin resident that is a dear family friend) picked out 7 hymns...and I picked out 6 readings (5 poems, etc., and 1 Bible selection) ... and did a mini "hymn sing/read sharing" service.....

Then, we spent a few hours at my Aunt's house ... and celebrated with a CHICAGO BEARS victory that clinched the division and a first round bye in the playoffs!!!!

What did Santa bring me?

What did Santa bring me?

I got a new digital camera, a Kodak Easy Share, to replace the one that drowned at school during Katrina. Now I have to learn how to use it. It is different from my other one. But I can't seem to get up the interest at the moment.
I also joined the Mystery Guild Book Club. I ordered 6 books for 99 cents plus postage and one for $4.99 to fulfill my first book purchase requirement.
I did not get those yet.
If anyone here likes to read a good "whodunits" and cannot afford to buy them, just let me know. I have boxes of them, and page turners too!!! I will be happy to send a few your way.

Well I had a lovely Christmas at mums with my sister and her family as well,
We had all the 7 grandkids there together and the weather was perfect.

Best of all was the big smiles on the kids faces as they all opened presents they liked...an amazing feat...considering someone usually gets soemthing they dont like...lol..I always feel sorry for the kid who ends up in tears on Christmas-day but we had none of that yesterday..it was a lovely day..

We had much to be grateful for this year but most of all...

the precious gift of our youngest family member...

Finn Rohan born 27th November...he was very sick while his muma was pregnant with him and he was less than 24 hours away from going to God.

I am also grateful to have found you guys and meet many new wonderful caring friends. It is so nice to hear you have all had a good christmas shared with loved ones. Now with all these new digital cameras amongst our members we shall be expecting to see some updated happy-snaps...LOL...very noice guys...

oh...my best pressie I got this year...A new Laptop ...YIPPEEEE!!!!!

I got that last gift before the evening was over. The precious call from son/wife. They both are exhausted. As some of you know, he is in e-business (sales) and his busiest season, just like WalMart and Target, is the Christmas season. It begins at Thanksgiving and is non-stop (day & night) til Christmas Eve night. His wife is a beautician who has her own business and with all the parties, etc at this season, her busiest time is Christmas season, too. Her season doesn't end til next Saturday night, because people want to be beautiful for New Year's more than Christmas. I am always so happy for them on Christmas because I know their best gift to themselves has arrived and is BLESSED REST!

Ross -

What a wonderful family you have!! You are truly blessed. Such good-looking boys you have - they look a lot like their father! AND they look just as ornery as their father. :)

Hope your holidays were happy.

My Christmas gift was that my son came home from Iraq Christmas Eve!! It was a huge welcome for his NG Unit including Santa arriving with them. It was a very touching event..

It is with much joy and happiness that I wish everyone a special holiday season and the healthiest New Year.

a happy mom,

Great picture, Ross. Thanks so much for sharing your family with us. BTW, what was it like having three teenagers so close in age? Yikes, I've got two teenage boys close in age - I can't imagine three. LOL

Also, thanks for posting Donna's picture. Donna, I'm so happy for you. What a great Christmas present to get him back from Iraq.
