indeed, and before we became such a cohesive group of interwoven cooperationalists pretty much most things in life were trying to kill us (bacteria, micropredators and insects still are {swears at bees}).I think I will take my usual view: "life is bad for you"
I reckon it goes like this: life is a sexually transmitted terminal disease, and we do our best being born into this world (usually) as cranky crying little things to keep as much of the happy kids we (hopefully) grew into while doing what we need to do to survive.
Now days I try to have as much fun as possible..
